This works well with Windows 10. I just needed something to copy CD s and DVD s.

Great for BDXL M-Disk Burning
I purchased this to burn 89GB of data files (mostly docs, xls, ppts, pictures, Downloaded programs, and lots of GPS data/image files/maps, and a few home movies--collected since the 80s)..References:.This LG Burner 3.0 SuperMulti LG Electronics 14X USB 3.0 Super-Multi External Blu-ray Disc Rewriter BE14NU40 (DVD+/-RW with M-DISC Support) $109.00.1 Verbatim M-Disk 100GB Verbatim M Disc BDXL 100 GB 4X 1 Pack Jewel Case 98912 $29.01.1 Nero 2016 Classic Download Nero 2016 Classic [Download] - Currently $99.99. I Paid $29.99..FYI, My Computer: Lenovo IdeaCentre Mini-Tower H505s Desktop, AMD E2-1800 APU 1.70 GHz with Radeon HD Graphics, 4GB RAM, plus a 32GB ReadyBoostCache on a SDHC Memory Card inserted into one of the SD Reader Slots (I just leave it there) Windows 8.1.I initially bought a LG Electronics 8X USB 2.0 with M-Disk $27.25 (Super Multi Ultra Slim Portable DVD+/-RW External Drive with M-DISC Support GP65NW60). This burner was NOT recognized by either of my 2 computers as BDLX - M-Disk (3TL) compatible. None of my burning software (Nero, Power2Go, LenovoBurn, and 2 freeware programs) would recognize this as M-Disk compatible either. This was useless for Blu Ray, with my computers..So, I purchased the 2016 NERO Classic and this LG 14X USB3.0 burner. I Really wanted to make an Archival backup (you can get info on why M-Disks are so valuable for almost permanent/lifetime Data storage on the M-Disk website)..This burner was immediately recognized by my computer as M-Disk BDXL compatible. I put in the Verbatim 100GB BDLX Disk and stepped through the proper process to span unbroken files (See Nero Burning for M-Disks on the M-Disk website for the correct settings. Amazon will not allow a link, but it's under Step-by-Step Instructions - a downloadable PDF)..It ran flawlessly. It verified the data flawlessly. It burned 89GB of mixed data and verified it in 58 minutes. I was utterly impressed. I viewed some of the more complex data files directly from the finished disk and they were perfect..This combination worked better than I had hoped for (Nero Classic + this Blu Ray M-Disk burner) and was worth every penny.Notes: I tried some of the freeware for burning, but they do NOT have the Ultra buffer (in Nero's program) that seemed to make this process run flawlessly. I was pleased I purchased the Nero Software for this task.

Was Not As Advertised
I was NOT pleased by this edition of Nero. I was led to believe I could reformat Wav files into MP3's but after installation, there is NO WAY to do this! I HATE software manufacturers and their engineers more than I do automotive engineers (and I used to wrench on engines so you know how much I hate those guys!) Whoever writes Nero's ad copy on their website does a crappy job. Sure I didn't spend much but I was led to believe this program would SUFFICE FOR ALL YOUR NEEDS. Pfffft. Do not believe the hype. They just want you to go for their Platinum edition. I ended up finding a Freeware program that transforms the files for me so what do I use Nero for now? Sticking pictures/photos to soundtracks. Oooh aaah. Yeah I know big deal. Then when I was confounded by it, I trie to go online for tutorials but Nero's tech writers who do their manuals refuse to understand that it is NOT all nerds & geeks who use their program but also folks who have little understanding of it and so I've had to spend some hours studying this stupid program just to get SOME use out of it. I will never buy another Nero product again.

Seems a little buggy
Obviously, the product will not copy copywrited material. That is not my concern. However, it did not perform as expected on my own DVD's. About half the time, it looks like it is copying a DVD only to abort at the end and I had to try a second time. That usually works. But there are some family DVD's which I could not copy at all. (I copied family videos to DVD. When I tried copying these DVDs to my PC using this product, this is when I sometimes had problems. But in most cases it would copy either on the first or second try. I think in part, it depends on the quality of the original VHS tape.) It's better than nothing. But it is not what I had hoped for.

All's well that ends well
Originally product would not install. Installation kept telling me I needed windows Vista, XP or 7 and then abort. I am running Windows 7 and have not had problems installing other software. I have used Nero before and it worked well so this surprised me. I contacted Nero support on two different occasions and each time received a robo e-mail that they would contact me in two business day's. That was one and two weeks ago respectively. They never got back to me. So I posted a negative review here. I was then contacted by Nero and given instructions on how to repair the installation. It installed without a problem. Product does what it is suppose to do. I would give it 5 stars but I was not happy that I was not contacted till I posted a negative review. Otherwise everything is good. All's well that ends well

A Solid Recommend
I'm sure I haven't explored nearly all it's capabilities and I'm sure it's not perfect, but I'm giving it 5 stars anyway. This is one of the few categories of software that I find the need to shell out money for - I just can't make due with free Apps, or Windows Media Player or whatever. Previously I was using 123 Copy DVD Platinum HD but I found it glitchy. I was throwing together a CD of 100 or so MP3s and when I tried to burn it, one of the files must not have agreed with the software and the playlist I just spent a half hour putting together was just gone and all I got was a useless error message (I know that some people think that optical media is dead but CDs and DVDs are still nearly universal - not every car stereo will play music from an SD card or USB stick, but they all play CDs). Anyway, Nero works flawlessly in my experience. It seems capable of doing pretty much any type of audio or video file conversion that I might ever want to do and was well worth the purchase. So far I've just ripped a few CDs and burned a few CDs and one DVD, but I'm impressed with how well it works in general and I know that it has a lot of other features that I may use eventually. I'm using Windows 10.
