Stetson Stratoliner B Hat

Perfect fit. Love this hat! Looks as nice as custom hat that costs 4 times this price. Shapes nicely and I have received so many complements. I was on the fence about buying it, and then just did it, and I am so glad I did!

I have several Hats and, some of them were a little-below my expectations but, (all) are are just nice to have. Most have been of the correct fit , some a little off. I like to have a different Hat for the different seasons. ie. you just do not wear a wool-hat during summer and no linen-Hat during winter. I recently ordered the Stetson "Stratoliner",.. and this Hat is the best Hat I have ever owned. Quality with a ring of the past is,.. this hat! The fit is perfect and the feel is "Outstanding" to say the least. I am looking forward to Fall as,..this is a "Fur" hat and will do well for me during the colder weather. My Stetson came in a nice Stetson box and was also inside a plastic bag with extra foam material to protect and help keep its shape. This is not only a "Quality" product but,..it was very evident that packaging was of a high standard also. Yes,..you $pay$ more for for this "Brand" but you are also riding 1st Class with a Stetson Hat. Once you see and feel this Hat you will not be disappointed. Lastly,..this Hat can be worn on any occasion. People want to know where you got this Hat. Simple-Put,.."The best Hat anyone can get".

Stetson Stratoliner is a great hat. Only Amazon question would be “is it the real deal?” Yes it is genuine. Solid. Price is high as to be expected. Love my hat.

I really love this hat and they had a great sale with a great discount. I saw someone complaining that they put a DC-3 pin on it instead of a Stratoliner and this one came with the DC-3 pin, which if you check the Stetson store it can come with the DC-3 pin. I'm very conflicted about returning it, because to replace it would cost another $57 dollars. It's only a little tight. I will not wear it until I make a decision. I only tried it on, and love it. I would have to switch colors, this was a Cordova. It is size 7 and I measured several times with a sewing tape and it kept coming out pretty exact at 22 inches. But, it's tight. I would suggest sizing up and maybe you'll have a better fit. I love it so much, that I'll gladly pay the extra to replace this one. Great bargain. Oh, and it arrived a couple days early. Backcountry did a great job. Hope they will understand if I return it. It will be my loss. It had a hidden box, with the proper Stetson hat box inside.

Fit can be a problem when purchasing a hat online. My head measures 22-3/4" and like most people, is longer front to rear than side to side but not really what you'd call a long oval shape. However, and this is just my opinion, the generic shape that Stetson uses on this hat is just an oval design and doesn't really conform to actual human head shapes and because of the hat's stiffness, won't conform to your head. I ordered my usual hat size 7-1/4 and it's just slightly snug front to rear and too wide on the sides. Had to use spacers under the sweatband on each side to achieve a comfortable fit. Pressed in on both sides, it's perfect, which tells me that measurement wise (22-3/4"), it's ok. There is no stretchability in this hat. Stetson definitely needs to offer a long oval option throughout their line. For this reason, I would not buy another Stetson without first trying it on. Your experience may be different.

First of all, mine did come in the 150th Stetson box with an extra cardboard ring, a foam ring and the hat was covered in plastic. My experience with felt fedoras is a couple of Bailey's Tinos, a few Scalas, a Woolrich and a Stetson Whippet. I was unsure about the Stratoliner because it's brim is wider than anything I have. I know they look good on Johnny Depp but im no Johnny Depp. I figured it would be similar to my Whippet. But my Whippet only looks good with the brim up. I wanted a fedora that looks good snapped up or down and the Stratoliner fits the bill. When snapped up it has a slight upward sweep on the sides. Kind of homburgesque. With the front snapped down it has a graceful transition to the snapped up back, unlike the Whippet. The felt is also thinner than the Whippet. This is not a bad thing because it's still stiff enough, but lighter in weight. I decided on the silverbelly color and I'm glad I did. I think it will look good with anything. My head measures a size 7 1/2. I ordered a 7 1/2 and it's slightly loose. Easily remedied with some hat foam strips to make a perfect customized fit. I'm definitely a Stratoliner fan and will be buying other colors.

I get many, many compliments when wearing this hat. I've learned that brushing every time after use really extends the light color.
