N-MAR-067 8 L Course Pet Habitat Water Plant Soil

Used for a planted shrimp tank. This is an improvement over the Dennerle Shrimp King soil I used before, which crumbled a bit easier and was slightly more difficult to insert plants into the soil. Additionally, Mr Aqua soil did not cloud up the water as badly as I had come to expect from active soil. I will be going with this brand going forward.

Very fast shipping and was in a nice packaged box. Have heard good things about this soil and am excited to see what it does for my plants. Swords, Anubis, java fern and a couple unknowns. Will post more pics in a couple months with update. Have also added flourite black fertilizer from previous tank, flourite lava rock, and root tabs. Bought this product becaus my swords were turning clear and brown and I read it was because they are heavy root feeders. So hopefully this works. 50bucks is a lot to waste. Running an onyx led light as well as fluval aquasky. Dose with flourish plant food and co2 booster

This is definitely pricey but it's worth it. I didn't pay attention to the fact that they are little black balls, not a compact dirt-like substrate as I expected, and I'm more pleased with how it came than I anticipated. I feel the small round shape allows more water flow through the substrate which will aerate the root system. It also just looks really nice. I would definitely order this again but I don't need any more tanks!

Really love this soil. My plants have been in for months now, and it basically allows a "set it and forget it" type of attitude with nutrients. I've added no supplemental nutes, and I have a heavily planted tank. Now I just need supplemental CO2.

I have used this soil before with great success. I'd washed it 1st by accident, but my plants thrived. Bought it again for our 20 g long divided betta tank and this time I didn't wash it. When I checked the water chem the nitrates read 20ppm. Ammonia and nitrites, 0. I had put my fish in the hospital tanks we have while changing out the substrate, so it wasn't as big a deal as it could have been. It's been almost a month and the nitrates read 5ppm. I've used a lot of different planting substrates, they can and do sometimes effect the water parameters. That was my experience this time. Again, it's great for my plants.

Great substrate for growing plants. Lowers KH from 9 to 2, GH stayed the same at 8-10.Better performance in plant growth than Fluval Stratum and equal to ADA aquasoil in my opinion.
