Fresh AAA Large Chestnuts Imported From Italy - 3 lb

The chestnuts are small and half are spoiled. They are usually lovely and large and fresh. It must be a bad year for chestnuts because these are very below the usual quality. The size isn't a big deal. You can still enjoy them but a spoiled chestnut is of no use, they are brown-black and some are moldy. From the outside they appear ok but once you open them you have a not so pleasant surprise. At least half of them are no good. Perhaps next season will prove better for chestnuts.

Moldy and green inside even after roasting. First batch of 12, 10 were bad. Suggest to ship in netted bag, in cardboard box, not in an aluminum bag that traps moisture. The outside shellsLooked great. Moisture problem?

If you buy this product you are wasting your money. I purchased thinking these would come fresh, as advertised. All the chestnuts in the box were not edible! They were spoiled! They had mold growing inside them.I tried to contact the seller. Even after sending these photos, he suggested that the chestnuts were edible. If you think these look fresh, go ahead and buy.By the way -- this purchase is NOT eligible for neither a return NOR refund. The seller suggested I open a return request. But it doesn't work, because there's no return or refund policy.TLDR, IF YOU ARE BUYING THIS - YOU'RE DUMPING YOUR MONEY DOWN THE DRAIN!

The package arrived quickly and the chestnuts were large, shiny, fresh-looking. However, over half of them were outright rotten (black) inside and most remaining ones had a slightly off taste.

These came in a timely manner. Prepared as usual. When I went to eat them the inner shell would not come off. On a few I used a knife to cut off inner shell. Of course you loose half the chestnut. Nice size but not worth the money or headache. VERY DIsapponting.

Excellent quality and very fresh - I prefer to steam them - slow and long - open them and add salt and good olive oil- super yummy!

Over half of the chestnuts were rotten. I’m extremely disappointed considering the amount I paid for them. See picture of what they looked like, almost completely black. Totally inedible.

At first they look great. They are extremely hard to peel, roasted or unroasted. They have this sweetness taste, I’ve never tasted chestnuts like this before. They are sticky, and feel gooey, especially when roasted. There is something that feels like honey around them. Not what I expected, nor wanted. I bought these for my family to enjoy and honestly I would never buy these again.
