Scent has changed/gone bad 6 months after purchase
I love this scent and have bought bottles of it before. This is the first time that I've experienced the perfume spoiling? I'm about 1/3 through the bottle and the scent has turned sour. Is this a quality control issue? I've called the company but haven't received a response. This product is quite expensive to be going bad this soon after I've only used 1/3 of the product.....

softer, more crystalline version of the big, heady 80's floral fragrances
Eau Moheli is a very un-Diptyque fragrance. It doesnt smell modern, but instead very 'retro' --- it's basically a softened 80's bouquet reminiscent of Amarige, Giorgio Beverly Hills, Tresor, and all the other 'big', heady florals of that era. Ylang is prominent, along with rose, tuberose, and other white blooms.Even though the *sillage* is not so big (it's a watered down, slightly more crystalline 80's floral), the *notes* are very reminiscent of the 80s----and this in itself, triggers a LOT of responses in people.I wore it in a cab with my colleagues, and all of them started rolling down the windows instantly.Another time, while spritzing it, two friends recoiled and said, "eww.. smells like an old lady!" (despite them being "OL" status themselves --ah well, some people just dont' know). After telling them it was Diptyque, they were shocked --- both of them own Diptyque candles and are familiar with their fragrances. But Eau Moheli made them scratch their heads in confusion. To me, Eau Moheli smells very un-diptyque. it smells a little old-fashioned. There's a time and a place for a big 'Dynasty'-style floral. But who knows? Vintage and Retro always is in fashion, and perhaps Diptyque is just bringing it back.
