Q: is the filter insert at the bottom of the tube supposed to slide out? Mine didn't include instructions

Mine came with everything in tact so I don’t think it should be that way. Mine also came with instructions. I am very happy with mine. I would ask for an exchange if I were you.

I cannot honestly answer your question . My olive oil sprayer did not work from day one . It did not spray an even mist . But for $18.99 and a little plastic bottle you would think it should work .. You could try to reach out to the seller. Best of luck to you .

Q: How well does the Mistifi sprayer work with canola Oil ?

While we haven't tried the Mistifi with canola oil, we have used olive, grapeseed and corn oils successfully. I see no reason to doubt that any typical cooking oil would work fine.
