Nice Awl
Worked well, handle is sturdy and easy to hold

It’s smaller than you’re expecting
They work well and for the price they’re great. The handles are kind of small but they hold the awl tips well and the awls are strong and work well.

Rough parts
This is a versatile kit but the finish on parts could be better- needles had burs that interfered with easy passage through material. The 2 brass handles also roughly finished making them hard to tighten adequately without tools. (Internal collet with burs). Works better after polishing, but it is an inexpensive tool.

Completely useless
The bad handle design, and the cheap, thin metal the handles are made of, prevent them from tightening onto the needles enough to push through leather. And if you try to torque the handles with tools, the handles just crumple. The hook needle has such sharp edges at the hook that it shreds through anything you try to grip and pull with it.The cheap latch on the plastic box broke right off. This is just more cheap garbage that is ending up in my landfill. And I REALLY hate that!!!

Huge and misshapen
These needles aren't sized or shaped correctly for doing the sort of leather or canvas I was planning to do with them. For starters, the needle points are massive. The hole they leave in the material is too large to shrink shut the way you'd expect when doing this sort of stitching. I tried using them on a project, but ended up buying a No. 8 stitching awl needle from another leather supplier. That No. 8 "heavy" sized needle is about .02" smaller around than the needles in this set. If the size of the needles wasn't bad enough, the side cut needles are shaped wrong, with the notch high enough up that the pointed edge sticks up like a barbed fishhook. That barb tears the side of the project I'm stitching when I try to use it. I could file this off with a hand file, but it's still problematicly large. The awl tip is fine, but the knurled/formed ends that insert into the handle are all different sizes, none of which fit into the handle collet without a lot of forcing. Also, the collet doesn't have a lead-in angle like you'd expect to see for such a tool. I should have just bought a real one from an actual leather tool supplier.
