Used this on a recent meteorite hunt in Outback Australia! Tool is compact and easy to assemble and use! The pole pieces are carry on acceptable, but be sure to check the sharp digging end of the Tool for TSA compliance! The included magnet was highly successful in locating iron meteorite fragments! Have only used it one time so far but it did just fine in very rocky ground.

Solid, hefty construction.

light, well balanced, easy to carry. only detractor is the magnet on the pick end (there's one on each end!), or should I say the collar on the pick end, rattles, but no big deal. overall a great piece of equipment.

Good product but the pick head will loosen after light use. Would recommend a little lock tite.

Great pick! Threads together well, solid when assembled and packable. Takes 60 seconds to get it out and put it to work.

Magnet could be a lil stronger but you want it pay for it. If your packing you can break this thing down to nothing. Using it in the small streams have not been up in the big rocks in foothills of CA. yet. See how she goes there. So far holding up strong.

We didn’t hesitate to make this purchase because we’ve always had great luck with SE products. This was great too, when we screwed all 3 pieces together. However, when we attempted to remove the middle shaft to make the smaller pick, the 2 pieces just wouldn’t screw in correctly; not cross threaded, but just not matched. We sent it back immediately because we wanted to be able to use it short or long without issues. Not available at this time, but if it comes back, we’ll try again, we like the seller.Will update review if we are able to replace the prospector’s pick.
