Better than expected
I don't like synthetic decor in my tanks but needed hides after I took apart my all wood setup got taken over by algae. This skull almost looks natural, has a big enough hole in the top for larger fish to get in and also to look through, and a good size for multiple fish to be in at once.

Looks great
Good size and looks great. I didn’t realize it was a shiny gold until I received it but it was a pleasant surprise as it went perfectly with the aesthetic we were going for.First one arrived broken but a replacement was quickly shipped and arrived in good shape. As others mention, there are some sharper edges that I had to sand down for the safety of my fish.Overall a good buy and would purchase it again.

Super cool
Now that the holidays are over it was time to add a year round decor item. This skull finished off the tank perfectly. Next I’ll be adding his bubbler under the skull so the bubbles can come up out of the hold on the top.

Our Betta Loves It!
Our betta Kayzo loves his new skull! I agree with others in that the bottom is sharp and the hole in the back of the skull has pointy edges which might be unsafe for betta fins, really only the eye sockets seem gentle enough. Others commented saying they sanded it but besides that being a lot of work, it could also mean the skull might fall apart over time much easier so we decided against that approach. Our solution was making sure the bottom is buried in the gravel, and then adding a fake plant (it's yellow in the picture) through the back hole. As soon as we added it to Kayzo's tank it's become his new favorite spot! He's constantly swimming through the eye sockets and hanging out in there. Overall a great buy, and if you have a betta just be thoughtful before putting it straight in. :)

Lights die fast
If I had bought one without lights, or if I’d written this review the first day I had it, I would have given it 5 stars for sure. My goofy turtle was super thrilled by it and I liked that it came with 3 separate lights, so I put two others throughout her tank. However, that was Monday. On Tuesday, I came home and the lights wouldn’t change colors and were stuck on red (lowest power). then, they went out entirely. Love the look, decent for money, lights should last more than 1 day (and off all night!) without burning out.I will say, it is sturdy enough for a curious (RES) turtle who loves biting anything in her tank.
