Perfect!
Our stair case didn’t accommodate a standard gate - we needed one that could adjust for different angles. This one does and does so perfectly. Just what we needed!

Great product!
This is awesome for gate use on your stairway. It was honestly easy as cake to install. There is no screwing into your railing so no damage is done. The only thing I would say is that the anchor kit that they provide is garbage. I ended up having to go get stronger ones because they screws just pulled out of the wall with the anchor. I bought some metal ones that expand as your screw in the screw and no it holds like it's in a stud. If you are getting the gate for your stairs this is a must have if you don't want to damage the railing. It even works on round banisters such as mine with the extra part that comes with it for that. Buy it, you will be happy.

Look up a video
The instructions aren’t great but you can easily find a video on how to install this. This kit is great if you have a banister and it is very simple to install. The wood strip is useful depending on what type of gate you have but it may look a little tacky unless you stain it to match your banister. I have a retractable gate and the hooks were too large to fit on the wood strip so I didn’t use the wood strip and drilled the hooks right into the white pieces and it worked out perfectly without that long mismatched wood strip. If drilling the gate pieces into the wood strip is sturdy so is connecting the gate directly into the white pieces. They could just do away with the tacky wood strip and make the white pieces wide enough to fit any gate attachments.

Excellent Gate For Staircase
This gate does work very well. The other reviews are accurate. I read way too many before deciding on this one. It was a little tough to install due to base boards on one wall and bannister pole on other side. Ending up needing a bannister installation kit. I ordered a different brand because it just looked like it would be easier. Once I got it, the rest was pretty quick. The gate is at bottom of stairs. It is very easy to open/close with one hand. Can't see how it wouldn't be, although I do have to show people what to do the first time they go through it. Our 21 month old future engineer has not figured out how to open it but he has tried many times. Also climbs and hangs on it. It's very sturdy. Doesn't budge so I don't have to worry about it falling on him either! This gate was a very good purchase. Worth every penny!

Perfect work-around for baby gate installation in awkward stairways!
This kit was the perfect companion for our KidCo Top of Stairs Safeway Gate. We live in a split entry home, with most of our living space on the upper floor. We needed a way to secure a baby gate to the top of the stairway, where the recommendations are to actually secure the gate with screws rather than use a pressure-mounted gate. (Safety reasons -- kids pushing on the gate and falling down the stairway.) In our home, one end of the gate would butt up to the wall, and the other to a round banister. This installation kit was the perfect work-around to help us avoid drilling into our nice wood banisters! Very straightforward installation of this gate installation kit, which I imagine would be compatible with many other brands of gates as well. The wood piece is nicely sanded and smoothed, so it looks quite nice even though it doesn't match the stain of our wood. (As an aside -- you probably could grab a small container of wood stain and try to match this wood piece closer with the color of the wood in your home, if you were wanting to get nitpicky about the details!)

The perfect part for newel post gate installation!
First I purchased a top-of-stairs gate that was to attach to my woodwork without damage. I found that the gate hinge was too tall to install under our banister AND it required that I put holes in our wood - so I bought this kit (and a shorter gate). The kit is just right! There are no holes in our woodwork, I could trim it to fit under the banister, and I installed it myself quite easily. The kit also made a secure connection, so there is no wobbling. I immediately bought another kit to install the first (too tall) gate on our back stairs without damaging our wood (and threw away the pieces that came with the gate). And, by the way, installing the gates is a lot harder than this kit! I definitely recommend this product.

Great product!
Very impressed w this! We have a wide stairwell with a not very secure banister. We put this on to attach the baby gate and it is amazing! Totally secure! Super easy to instal! Didn’t take too much time at all!Note: make sure to measure out where you are screwing the gate into this before attaching anything. You don’t want to run into issues of having screws in the same spot

Perfect
Perfect! No holes in my staircase bannister. And was relatively easy to install for me, a lady novice DIY-er.

Awful instructions
While this product does the job. The instructions were by far the worst I have ever seen. Very unclear, written poorly and no pictures for support. Kisco should rewrite these instructions as well as their baby gates instructions, just awful.
