Clean Makeup That Lasts!
After hours of research, I found the products in the last photo. I wanted to find clean, environmental, and safe makeup that didn’t break the bank. In the past I’d go to makeup stores and end up spending $200+ bc I know very little about makeup and I end up going with what the consultant suggested. Since I’m currently not working and am interviewing for jobs (and of course, I ran out of makeup), I couldn’t afford to be oblivious about makeup. I’m so glad I found these products! I used all of the products in the photo, but I wouldn’t say that it would be my daily wear. In regards to the foundation, I liked that it wasn’t too heavy but also evened out my skin tone. It went over my concealer perfectly and blended well. Using a makeup brush I was able to blend it into my jawline seamlessly. I’m very happy with this clean, safe, and affordable foundation!I strongly recommend this product!

Wonderful! Light feeling with medium coverage
This product goes on feeling light and stays that way all day. The tube says full coverage, which with my very fair skin and red acne scars, seems more like medium coverage if I apply one application.I like that it is buildable, meaning you can apply more than one coat over certain areas. I use a cosmetic sponge to apply the first application, then build in certain areas with a brush. I use a dabbing motion with the brush and it works quite well.I love the feeling, or should I say "not feeling" of this foundation. I wish Maybelline would bring it back.

One of my favorite backups
Good coverage and great color match. Have used this as a backup makeup for those quick moments for years. Great product.

Medium coverage without looking cakey or heavy.
Like I needed ANOTHER foundation!. But I read good things about this Maybelline Dream Velvet one and I decided to give it a try, I have medium skin that is on the lightest end of the medium spectrum and have been having a hard time finding a shade to match. I took a chance on this Natural Beige shade and it is perfect for my skin. The foundation is a bit spongy and like a mousse and reminds me of the foundation they used to have in a jar which was bouncy. I didn't like that but I do like this formula. It is lightweight and evenly covers imperfections without looking caked on.I am in my 50's and have pretty good good skin but I do have some slightly darker areas and slightly lighter areas that I like to even out and this foundation does that. It leaves my skin feeling hydrated but it is not dewy or shiny. I barely can tell I have it on but my skin looks better and other cosmetics adhere well and stay put.I have loads of foundations from the highest end to the lowest and will always switch around but I definitely am pleased with the performance and the shade of this foundation. It doesn't settle into find lines and really looks barely there - yet it evens skin tone and leaves my skin looking fresh. It's definitely worth a try if you're looking for medium coverage without the cakey, heavy feel and look.

Really a very good foundation, especially considering the price.
I have always worn expensive department store foundation - it really does make a difference. My last favorite was a Dolce & Gabbana product. Around $60 a bottle, & I had to buy two different colors for the right shade for my skin. But the finished product was well worth it - it was a velvet matte finish & I love it (I say 'was' because I currently cannot find it, but I will !). It lasted a long time (after all, I'm working on two bottles rather than one). I looked around for the standard cosmetic brands for a foundation that I could wear around the house or on weekends when I wasn't going out & after a few tries with some Revlon, etc. brands, I saw the 'velvet' labeling on this Maybelline foundation & thought I'd give it a try (I love Maybelline mascara above ALL else). So I tried it & was amazed at the 'professional' results. It really is a great foundation. NOW. I read some reviews that it was too dark or thick, & - it can be. But I'm going to share with you all out there a tip I learned a few years ago (that I only wish I knew this in my youth!) Standing in the COSTCO checkout line a few years back, a gal & I got to talking about the cosmetic brushes I was purchasing (mine was a duplicate because they don't always carry them but when they do, the price & quality is astounding). I told her I had trouble finding a foundation that was my own shade & that did not make me look 'made'. She was an artist (landscapes, portraits) & she shared this artist's tip with me & it changed my (makeup) life. She said she applied her foundation 'dots' sparingly along the usual places on one's face - then, she lightly spritzed her face with water & blended. It dilutes the foundation, making it more natural & can lessen the 'color'. I thanked her - but was skeptical. I tried it, though - & believe me, it makes all the difference in the world in mastering your foundation. A little travel spray bottle will do the trick - & remember, spray sparingly. The trick with this Maybelline foundation is to use sparingly. Just little dots will do. You can always build on it. Less is definitely more in this case. As someone who has routinely used high(er) end foundations, I'm still in awe of the finish this affordable foundation gives.

Hard to work with, not the best looking foundation
There's good and bad with this, but mostly, it's not working for me. It clings to any little bit of texture or dry patch I may have, and doesn't leave me with a smooth look. I also feel it settles into my pores somewhat. I look too makeup-ey when I am done. I have to work too hard to make my makeup look good with this. Today, I actually had to take my makeup off and start over, because I looked so bad. I have been trying it different ways, with and without primer, with different primers, and today the primer I tried it with just didn't work well with it at all. I just can't see having to work so hard to make a product look good. The good is that it doesn't oxidize on me, and the color worked out. I bought the lightest, 10 Porcelain, as some reviews mentioned it ran dark. I think that was good advice. It leaves my makeup brush looking super orange. Fortunately, my face doesn't look orange. But I am pretty sure that after a couple more attempts, I am going to throw this away, unless by some miracle I figure out a way to make it work.
