Hunter 59244 Dempsey Low Profile Fresh Ceiling Fan with Light and Remote (44 inch, White)

I ordered this fan to replace one in a guest room with only one power run to the ceiling. The existing fan did not have a remote or a dimmable light. I was impressed with the quality and simplicity of this fan. It works well, is easy to install and very quiet. The remote is very simple and remembers the settings for the fan and light if you turn off the wall switch. Holding down the light button will dim and brighten the light. Unlike many fans on the market, the light kit is not LED string lights. It comes with two standard LED bulbs that you can replace. Hunter fans are know for their reliability and longevity. I have have several that haven't been turned off in over 20 years and still work perfectly.The installation instructions are clear, large type and well written. I was somewhat nervous about hanging the motor by the two small "ears" on the side of the housing, but they worked fine. However, I would be careful not to bump it much while you are doing the wiring. (I put some padding on the floor under it just in case!)I wanted to test the fan before installing the blades and light so I turned it on and it didn't work! I took it down and checked the wiring, but everything looked fine. After some more experimentation, I discovered that the fan will not work if the light kit is not plugged in! Duh! If you want to test, just plug the light kit in and let it hang to see if everything works. Highly recommend.

A very good quality product. The installation instructions were easy to follow. The fan is very quiet and provides good ventilation. I have one question how do you change the fan direction for winter and summer? Or is it only one direction?….Well, had I turned the page on the last of the instructions I would have found the answer to my question. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Love the product. I bought two of these for my daughters rooms. Normally we would have free stand fans in the rooms and they'd create gray noise to fall asleep. These fans are much quieter which at first was a concern that my girls may hear more background noises. Instead, the fans are so smooth and create great airflow that the girls end up having a better deeper sleep. I will buy another for our guestroom soon.
