Candlestick and Pivot Point Trading Triggers: Setups for Stock, Forex, and Futures Markets HAR/CDR Edition

This a well written book that provides lots of background AND the specific steps (entry and exit signals) to make money trading the Forex market. This methods explain also work for the futures and stock market.I would highly recommend this book for any one that is trading any market and has not used pivot points!

Before you read this book I would highly recommend reading any other with candlestick being the primary subject. "High Profit Candlestick Patterns" or "Profitable Candlestick Investing" - both by Stephen W. Bigalow or one of Steve Nison books. The more you know about candlesticks patterns and emotions behind them the better trading decisions you might be reaching.Person's book is one of the very few explaining pivot point - very useful tool indeed. Using high closing and low closing doji with pivot point will not make you a perfect trader, but will allow to avoid disasters being to hasty (or too greedy ) in your decisions. Bottom line of any trading is discipline - and this book is trying to teach this showing how to develop and use very simple system.CD provides nice overview of everything covered in the book plus pivot calculator. If you need one a bit more sophisticated, you can find it on [...].Trading is about making money. Keeping things simple will make you a better trader and this book will help you in that.

Good experience for trader, entry exit and stop lose. And the rule is very important when you are getting into a position. Concise candlestick pattern. All the above written in the book worth rereading

This is the very best book on trading using pivot points. No other book comes close to John Person's excellent book which shows the details and process to use in making money with pivot points!

I really like the combination of candle sticks with pivot points! Candles are fine but must be combines with other western technicals. I like this as a constant combination. You can then add MACD or ADX to finetune your timing. I learned a lot from Person.My only reason for not giving it 5 stars is that it has a lot of filler. Gives the book a bit of bulk but not much meat. A good edit would have made for an easier read.

This book has really helped me grow as a traitor. I feel more confident now than I did before I read the book. I recommend everyone to read this.

I've invested on and off for years, and wanted to try my hand at day trading stocks and ETFs, so I went looking for a trading system that would work for me. This book delivered for the most part. So why only 3 stars?On the plus side, the author's system relies heavily on only a small number of candlestick formations and technical indicators to do the heavy lifting, and I'm a big believer in the KISS principle. And he includes tons of real chart snippets along the way to exemplify every aspect of his system. I found that adhering strictly to the prescribed candle and technical confirmation triggers enabled me to make good trade entries almost immediately. That in itself makes me glad I read this work.But there are some negatives. I found myself re-reading a page occasionally to gain understanding, not due to techno-market esoterica, but because it was not well written. I regret that I never did totally extract an understanding of the author's system for setting trailing stops. I wondered if the book was proof read. The pivot point portion of the system, though fairly easy to understand, is virtually impossible to implement/use without the right software package (which the author promotes randomly throughout the book).

Great read, although a bit technical...packed with lots of material that will help you grow your trading skills & knowledge! Even though the examples are several years old, the lessons and "take aways" are timeless.
