Easy to install and set the tension.

I installed this spring on our gate eight months ago and it still works perfectly so I'd say it has great durability. I appreciate that the tension can be adjusted. It is a good value for the money.

It's a pretty solid build so I think it will last a while. For my gate, I was able to adjust it to give just the tiny nudge that was needed to close the gate against the wind. It doesn't come with any instructions though. The only instructions are in the product photos at the top of the Amazon page. It's a photo of instructions that look like they've gone through the laundry. Just kind of tacky.

The media could not be loaded. Simple spring design to close gate door. No instructions included in packaging but able to find in Amazon.com item postings.Be careful when installing on vinyl gate, do not over tighten screws to strip.

some basic instructions would have been nice. Other makes give basic instructions such as fixed end should be on the bottom

Very easy to install with a nice black finish. Watch out! Be careful not to over tighten the screws and stripping them if you are installing a a vinyl fence. If it is wooden fence you are installing on then you shouldn't worry. Also watch out and keep in mind that this spring "PUSHES" the door closed. It doesn't pull the door closed. So it needs to be mounted on the whichever side swings out so the spring can "push" it closed.

Don't buy this item. First of all, there were no instructions. Luckily, I am pretty handy and I found several videos with instructions. The other issue is with the small peg that you put into the correct hole after winding up the spring. The peg will not go into any of the holes! I happened to have an extra allen wrench that fit very nicely. Once I got it installed and found the correct tension on the spring, it works pretty good.
