Working great!
We got this mini split for our 400 sq ft cabin, we have had it for almost a year now and so far it has been working great! The heating ability is really being tested this week, Wisconsin winter and -18. I don’t want to jinx myself but so far it’s been holding up! We did have it professionally installed. Definitely worth the price!

Great unit and easy to install!!
My shop is about 460sqft and an old (40's) detached garage and wasn't insulated. In Seattle, this mean I could really only work there for about 3 months in the spring and 3 months in the fall. It also meant my mill, lathe welder and other machinery and my precision measuring tools had to be coated in protectant to stop the flash rust and corrosion from condensation when temp rise quickly from below freezing. I insulated with R13 in my 4in thick walls and then installed the 12k BTU unit. So far this winter I have had the unit set to minimum heat setting (62*) and 'ECO' setting and the temps inside remain above 60*! We didn't see high temps in the fall after I had finished insulating so, I can't tell how it will be in the summer but so far I'm VERY satisfied.Shipping was fast and predictable. The few things I learned:Aside from the fear of messing something up, the instructions are very good. There are also YT videos to show others doing the installs. I tend to overthink so just following instructions and doing a little research helped. It wasn't clear whether a vacuum was required so I bought a cheap vacuum pump and that worked perfectly. Some say you don't need this. I figured better safe than sorry. It also helps detect if I had a leak so, it seemed like cheap insurance.I mounted mine on the wall and when the compressor unit comes on it creates some vibration. I can hear it inside our house but my wife - who can hear rabbits fart in our yard - says she can't hear it so, maybe it's not as bad as I think.I cut my gas lines so they were as short as possible given the placement of the interior and exterior units so moving the exterior unit to the ground will be a bit of a pain but I will do that.I installed the hose/wire cover to pretty up the install a bit. Plan on making a few trips to the hardware store to get conduit and other fittings etc. I'm very particular about the looks of the install (well, my wife is really and I have to meet her standards) so I took a lot of time to integrate the unit into the existing infrastructure and electrical.I wish I'd done this years ago! Easy peasy!

DIY friendly! Efficient and QUIET!
I installed this unit in a basement den with no other source of heating or cooling. I used the HVAC calculator to find the correct BTU size for this and bought it. It arrived pretty quickly and had everything I needed to install it. My only add-on was the line set cover kit for about $45. I had it installed and running in an afternoon. I had previously bought a RobinAir vacuum pump with adapters for HVAC so that I could do the vacuum after the lines were installed. The unit comes with a full charge of refrigerant in the main unit. Be sure to use Nylog Blue thread sealant on all of the connections to ensure a leak-free seal on your line set. Works great and didn't add but a few dollars to our electric bill over the past several months! Used it for cooling during the last of the summer and now for heat. It kept the room (29 x 18) toasty warm on a 22 degree night! I'm very pleased with it so far. The unit was WAY less expensive than having a big box store come out and do the job. I was quoted over $$6,000 for a same sized unit from a big box home improvement store to come out and do this same install. I came in with everything at under $1,000.

Don't Trust The Factory Flare Fittings
After 8 months the factory flares on the line set failed and leaked all the gas out. HighSEER was absolutely no help. They refused to pay for the repairs and stopped responding to my inquiries. This unit is in a vacation rental and needed to be repaired ASAP so I couldn't wait to have the work done. HighSEER used this as an excuse to not pay for any part of the repair and said that I should have sent the unit back or contacted them first which makes no sense because paying to have the unit uninstalled and shipping it back leaves my home without cooling/heating. Of course, they want me to ship it back because they know how ridiculous it would be to have the unit uninstalled from my house 8 months after the fact. What a crazy and unreasonable response! The unit itself is okay, but the blower is weak and the cooling is mediocre. The heat works much better than the cooling. The controls are a bit confusing and the fan speed, fin movement, sound, and display have to be set up every time the unit is powered on. As mentioned the factory flare failed after 8 months and the customer service was unhelpful. It's quiet and the display is nice but it's really slow to respond when turning on so you never really know if what you're setting on the remote is actually working. I find myself sitting and waiting a lot which is annoying. I waste a good amount of time answering emails and calls from guests wondering if the unit is working right. I would not buy this unit or order from this company again. I would only purchase an item like this from a local dealer again.
