Keeps my senior kitty warm for hours!
I bought this for my senior Siamese Kitty, who was constantly seeking out my body heat. I microwave this for five minutes then let it sit for one minute, put on the cover then slide it under his bed at the foot of my bed. He is so excited to climb in every night and now I sleep better because he’s not constantly on top of me! It takes 12 to 14 hours to get completely cold and ready to microwave again. This is more than enough time to keep him sleeping warmly through the cooler nights in the winter. I think it would be too hard/uncomfortable for most kitties to lay directly on, but if put beneath a soft blanket or bed, a heat-loving kitty will just love it! Good value for the money, and I don’t have to worry about risks with an electric heating pad or bed.

Works great
This stays warm for over 8 hours in an enclosed area like a hooded cat bed or a space under the covers. My cat is a petite Siamese and she loves this heating pad. She sleeps with it under a blanket during the day and will sit on it any time she sees it. It loses heat much faster if not in an enclosed space. I just bought my 2nd one but the first is several years old and still working perfectly.

Excellent idea. It’s my feral cat colony warm during the cold nights
I bought multiple of these to keep the feral cat colony warm during the winter. I heat them up in the microwave at dinner time and wrap them in self warming cat blankets so they stay warm longer. They keep the feral cats warm through the night and are still kind of warm in the morning. I highly recommend.

Easy to use, stays warm for hours in an enclosed area.
I have three of these now. One for my dog's bed while we're at work. Gives him a warm place to lay on and it's still warm nine hours later. A second I have to keep things in my car from freezing. This one gets cold a lot faster as it's not in an insulated container so heat is sucked away. The third I bought to place under my chicken's water container. It will be on a wooden stand with insulation on the sides and bottom to the heat can only go up into the container. It should be enough to keep the water from freezing during the day while we're at work. When below freezing the container will be brought in, and filled with warm water in the morning when I put it out. It takes a long time to freeze a few gallons of water and this should be enough to make sure it doesn't happen. Especially the outer rim where its shallow and where the birds drink from. That's my hope anyway, I'll see when it gets below freezing. The instructions have a discrepancy though. The times on the sticker and in the instruction sheet are different than the time on the chart on the packaging. It's only for one wattage of microwaves. I go by the shorter time on the sheet and sticker and it seems to be fine.

Life "sleep" saver!
My boyfriend and I raised kittens this past summer, no more than a week old. We were so scared of them getting cold that I made re-heatable socks of lentils, rookie mistake. They burned and we had to toss them after the third or fourth night. Which wasn't bad - they were reheated every three to four hours to keep them warm. But we needed a replacement. The disk is thick enough to be heated up for five minutes and would keep warm for 7+ hours. (Check your microwave wattage!) Absolutely worth the money! No leakage so far but we haven't had to use it in months; the kittens are big enough that they can keep their own body temp just fine. Durable, considering we microwaved this sucker twice a day, everyday, for over four months. Might have to give the kittens something warm to lie with again. No smell! The lentils burned so bad it stunk up the room. Never again.

Works as advertised
Edit, January 17, 2015: I am back to buy more of these. I now have 8 of them and I use them for my two boys (who are still together) as well as other feral cats who sleep in various spots. One of my ferals sleeps in an Indigo dog house (igloo-like, but with an extended entrance) and I put 2 of these inside the house every night. I keep extra ones so that I can start heating the pads before it gets dark, and I can just run outside and exchange them, rather than take the old ones out, heat them and then return them. I have had some of these pads for several years and they still work great.I now also heat one up for a very elderly cat in my bedroom. I put it under the top blanket and she crawls under the blanket and lays next to the Snuggle Safe pad. When I tell you she does not move all day, I am not kidding!***********(Original Review)I have been using these for my feral cat boys for several years now. They just will not come in the house! So I put one of those plastic rain bubbles over my basement window well and cracked one side of it open enough for the two boys (they are lifelong friends) to get into the window well. I put a plastic bag on the ground of the window well, then a fleece blanket and then the snuggle safe heating pad. I put another thin fleece blanket over it, and a round pet bed over the top, so the boys aren't exposed to the hot pad. These pads work great. I love it when I feed the boys and then see them snuggled in the window well, grooming each other. There is nothing like a post-dinner grooming session in a heated window well! Every winter night, I heat up a pad for 6 minutes in the microwave and then exchange it for the now-cold pad in the window well that I put there the night before. Very quick and simple. The pad does not get soft, but it definitely gets very warm. Do not handle the heated pad with your bare hands; use a towel or the cover that comes with it. Never place it where the cat would be laying with the hot pad up against his skin; always separate the pad from the cat with one or more blankets. BTW, I have started to not use the covers, because sometimes a little rain drips in the window well, and then I have a soggy pad cover to contend with, along with everything else that got damp. The pads stay warm for a long time. I have been surprised, on less-cold days, to go out there the next evening with the newly-heated pad and find yesterday's pad still slightly warm. When it is very cold, that is not the case, but the heat definitely lasts for the overnight hours.
