It was had to find but, this one has it all- abundant knowledge for sure. Translation is good as well.

Wrapping was soo bad.... d pages wer damaged... in chikitsa sthana (3 vol) book, all pages wer out by wrapper...It's better to buy in shops

This eight volume set is a treasure. The authors lovingly and painstakingly translated the historical Charaka Samhita and added important commentary. If you are a student of Ayurveda, I highly recommend it. You will definitely have many surprising moments, such as the meats recommended for certain seasons (Ayurveda does not always demand vegetarianism), and that alcoholism was as serious a health problem 2,500 years ago as it is today. I enjoyed this book not just for its information on Ayurveda but from the historical perspective as well. I did not give it 5 stars because it is a bit esoteric (not surprisingly since it is an ancient text). I would recommend Vaidya Vasant Lad's books for a more accessible take on the practice of Ayurveda
