As a massage therapist specializing in bodywork, I am using my arms all day long in a way that requires stability and strength. I recently strained my rotator cuff and needed something that would help give my shoulder some stability and support while I worked without restricting my mobility. I have used other brands of kinesio tape in the past and it usually stays on anywhere from 24 hours to 3 days. This is the first time I tried the Spartan tape and I am impressed! I am currently on day 7 with this tape on my shoulder with no sign it's going to come off any time soon. I have had continuous support throughout all my day time activities as well as sleeping at night. This tape still allows my to move through my full range of motion while I rehab my shoulder and work. Even with it getting wet in the shower every day, it has stayed in place without any problem.I applied this tape to dry skin, rubbed over the tape on my skin to really warm up the adhesive, and kept my shoulder warm by wearing a sweatshirt for an hour after the tape was applied. If the tape doesn't hold up as well for you, it might be the way it was applied. Some suggestions...clean dry skin, shave area of needed, do not have any lotion etc on your skin, and warm the adhesive a bit after it's been applied.Another concern I often have is that my skin can be sensitive to adhesives - itching, redness, welts. There has been no sign of any irritation with Spartan tape. It's easy to apply and comfortable to wear. My skin does great with it.Now I am not a swimmer and even when working out I don't tend to sweat heavily so I can't speak to how this tape would hold up in those conditions. But for help with stability throughout my workday, while rehabbing my shoulder, light/moderate sweating, and showering every day, it has held up great. I'm impressed and will continue to use Spartan tape for my personal care and client care.

I am a PT and use Kinesiotex "regular" tape at work (they have a more water resistant tape, but that's not what my employer supplies us with). I have also used RockTape and KT Tape personally. The Spartan tape less expensive than all 3 of these. As far as adhesiveness, the Spartan Tape stays on better than both Kinesiotex and KT tape in my personal experience. It sticks about the same as the Rock Tape for my personal use on my feet and sometimes knees. It is slightly thinner than RockTape, but that doesn't effect performance / symptom relief for me. The instructional PDF is a good, basic guide and is a lot easier to understand and follow than the little fold up pamphlets that come with the other brands. There are a ton of ways to tape things, so you'll obviously find other ways that aren't listed in their manual if you look on Google, but having taken a few classes on k-tape and Rock tape, it's a solid resource to start with. There's no real scientific research to support why any brand of kinesiology tape works, but it does work for me and a lot of my patients (and I was a non-believer for a long time b/c there is no evidence). I try to wean people, including myself, off of it eventually, but taping allows me to progress people more quickly and addresses a lot of pain complaints that my patients have when we're first starting to work on things. Oh... and did I mention that Spartan Tape comes in a ton of colors?? I love the orange! I swear, it makes me run faster ;-)

I first want to state that I love this tape! It does everything I was told it would do, everything it advertises, and is fantastic. I purchased it to help manage my growing belly weight as I get more and more pregnant carrying our first child. I loved that I could wear it for three or more days comfortably, sleep in it, work in it, and did not feel hampered or agitated the way I feel using a belly band. I even took a shower in it. The corners where I cut the tape did start to peel after a day or two but I just trimmed them down so they wouldn't be annoying, it did not stop from the product from working.My one complaint, or rather, my sadness is that the adhesive does not seem to agree with my skin. I've always had sensitive skin so when I did the test strip and had no problems I was delighted and started to use the tape regularly. My first box did not have any adverse reactions. My second box, however, left a minor pink burn when I removed the tape. At first I thought it was the natural pinkness that happens when you're ripping a band-aid off (we've all been there) but then a day, two days, three days later I can still see the wavy design of the adhesive in my skin. It was no longer pink but clearly a new feature on my flesh that I did not have with the first box of tape. So, sadly, I have discontinued using my second box after this so I don't continue to annoy my skin. Was it a horrible, painful problem? No, not really. I was itchy and sensitive for about 48-72 hours after removal of the tape. I'm just avoiding it to be safe.Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoy this tape! It is really amazing!
