It is a bolt. I turned it clockwise and it tightened. It held down the top of my JK. Five stars.

Perfect for my 2012 wrangler hardtop
I purchased my hardtop used and were missing these bolts for the front of the main top where it connects to the freedom panels. It wasn’t a big issue not having them, but I did notice the top move slightly at highway speed in the wind, so I purchased these bolts to help hold it in place and simply tightened them up and I’m good to go. Would buy again.
