jar is attractive and giftable, fruit spread is fruity and tasty, but lots of water in the jar.
I like the jar...it is attractive, high-end looking, and definitely giftable. The product itself is thick and potent and tasty with great thickness and cling. it smells wonderful, and spreads fairly easily also.The taste is fresh with not too much sugar.What I don't like: there is an excessive amount of water swimming around a plug of fruit spread when you open the jar. there was a good 3 teaspoons of water that had separated out of the product which made me fell somewhat cheated on the amount of spread that there is the eat. It also does not particularly make me happy in that it kind of suggests that it is either old, or that it suffered in shipping with heat...though I cannot taste this in the product.Just wish that the jar was filled to the wall and that there was less water separation.

Mine was very poorly wrapped for shippingβ¦
And needless to say, my jar arrived shattered in a whole lot of tiny pieces , with the jam mixed in and huge mess all over the flimsy paper packaging used to send in the mail. Such a waste , Iβm sure it was delicious, and the jar and French label would have made a nice little gift, as was quite heavy . I opted for a refund , but did receive the Fig spread (same brand, same jar ) safe and sound later, from a different source I believe, perfect and wrapped well in bubble wrap.

pours like a liquid
The top says "easy open" but it was one of the most difficult jars to open I've ever had.Had to tap it hard to break the seal and then grabbed it with both hands and twisted for everything I had. After it opened, it poured out all over the countertop. I had held it sideways to unscrew the top not knowing the contents were liquid. Don't think I've ever seen liquid jam/jelly/preserves/spread before.It soaked into the bread. Can't really taste it. Is this just an off batch
