Disappointed -- too opaque
I thought Gamblin would be a safe bet for purchasing a large tube of burnt umber. I had just finished a tube of Michael Harding Burnt umber. Once trying the Gamblin I did not like how it looked. After buying some M Graham burnt umber (one of my favorite brands), I found it too was like Gamblin and then I noticed it was opaque, while the Michael Harding burnt umber was transparent. I think this explains it, I love the look of the transparent burnt umber and dislike the opaque type. It is good to figure this out, I'll be sure next time.
