Nice and robust but finish could be better
If you are looking for a heavy duty latch that does a great job then buy this, if it’s a perfectly finished high quality then I would probably suggest buying something else. The latch is well made and there is little or no chance of bending it if the gate slams but the galvanised finished is not the best and is roughy to the touch in some places. As it’s only a gate latch it doesn’t bother me that much but it’s a shame it not better

Heavy quality
Not flimsy like many but decent thickness of metal and a heavy bar which latches into place positively to secure.

Good quality
Easy to install, came with all required fixings and was well packaged. Quite thick metal, looks and feels substantial in use. Fully galvanised so should last a long time without maintenance.Good, solid gate latch, very good value for money - recommend.

Galvanised gate latch
Very rustic, looks aged and a bit rough round the edges.... but that'd exactly what we were looking for, didn't want pristine stainless steel .... it's for a 2metre tall garden gate ..... very happy with it the swing bar that latches and holds the gate is very solid 5mm thick and should last...

Good and strong latch
IRONTITE® Suffolk Latch Galvanised:This is made of thick steel that will not bend in heavy winds unlike many flimsy latches. The galvanising is a bit rough but looks like it has a thick coating, the supplied screws are galvanised too. I have high hopes that this latch should last far longer than the big chain diy stores offerings.There is a black epoxy coated option also available which should have a smoother finish.

Heavy gauge latch.
This latch has been made well using decent gauge steel. The lift bar looks more than twice the thickness of a similar one I picked up at B&Q. The only negative is the finish on the galvanising isn't perfect but it's good enough not to deduct a star.I would recommend this product.
