GREEN & BLACK'S ORGANICDark Chocolate 70% Cacao, OLD 10 Count

Have not found a better tasting chocolate bar. They are great for snacking; chopped up for baking, and on occasion dropped in hot milk for hot cocoa. I like that they have a rich chocolate taste without too much sweet.

I was looking for a new dark chocolate after the report came out about levels of Cadmium and Lead in some of the other popular brands of Dark chocolate. I decided to try this one out and am incredibly happy with my purchase. It tastes just like a dark chocolate should and is organic and fair trade. I also loved that it was shipped with a cold pack and wrapped in a material to keep the product cold in transfer. Considering the weather has been in the 90's the past week, I was alittle concerned about this, but because of their packing, it arrived in great condition. Would definitely recommend.EDIT: After this initial order I ordered this again and unfortunately that batch we old and not edible. I tried several of the bars out of the box and they were all the same. I contacted the company and within a few minutes they apologized and refunded the money. I decided to give them another shot and re-ordered them and this new batch is just as delicious as the first batch, so I am keeping my 5 star review because the company had great service and the bars are great.

I am a lover of dark chocolate and have searched for and tried every brand I could find. In general, I find 85% dark chocolates too bitter for my taste. I prefer dark chocolate that is intensely chocolate with a bit of sweetness, which I have found in chocolates in the 65% to 75% range. Of these the G&B 70% stands apart from all of the others I have tried for the complexity of its chocolate flavors, which I am no more able to label as I am the flavors found in fine wine.As one would expect in a 70% dark chocolate, the flavor is intensely chocolate, as is typical of bars in this class. What separates and elevates G&B above all others is the unfolding of flavors as it melts in your mouth, a trait I have only found elsewhere in the very best gourmet chocolate truffles, such as Christopher Elbow's and Andre's Grand Cru, both of which are very expensive. This is not to say G&B is in the same class as gourmet dark chocolate truffles, obviously it is not. It does however, share a complexity of flavor not found in other chocolate bars, which is why it is by far my favorite chocolate bar.I might add, I too have bought G&B chocolate bars that were inedible due to improper storage. In my case, they came from a local store of a very well known large organic grocery store chain.

Chocolate is great; packaging was near collapse -- needed a sturdier box

I bought this product 10 days ago for $26.44. Today it is $45.99. It is good: but not that good. A run on cocoa butter? Gauging?

This is one of the best dark chocolates I have ever eaten in my life. And I have been trying them for most of my 59 years. (What a incomplete world it would be if the only vendors of dark chocolate were Hershey and Nestle!)It is smooth, with a unique flavor. There are some fruity flavors in there, and not too bitter.The smoothness property is probably the biggest selling point, as so many of the brands of dark choclate are almost waxy in their consistency.The main reason I bought this is that the price from the vendor was excellent, even with some shipping expense.I highly recommend this chocolate. Search around for a local retailer and buy one bar, and you will be very pleased if, like me, you love dark chocolate.

First time ordered, perfect. Second time...liquid chocolate anyone? Idiot delivery person left it in BRIGHT HOT SUN, not under front door shaded overhang. Melted. When re-solidified, it was a big lump. Amazon did refund the money...I will go buy it in Whole Foods and put in a cooler so it doesn’t melt. I have to ration out sugars VERY precisely. Flavor...my mom thinks it’s too bitter. I think it’s just the right balance. I DO prefer the more bitter flavor, so try it and decide for yourself. Love that it is organic and fair trade.

while not a connoseur of dark chocolate selections i do favour them over milk chocolates. i haven't taken any steps to verify the ingredients of this product, i can only attest that the order i received from green & black in early 2011 is utterly tasteful, smooth, rich, creamy and overall so palatable and toothsome that i cannot recommend it unless you wish to commit to consuming a lot of chocolate. it has the right, minimal amount of sweetness to make another piece seem like a very good idea. it's worth repeating that this chocolate is smooth. dark chocolate afficionados here very satisfied, thank you.
