Never frustrated buying any PD product. Same applies for this product from brilliant folks of PD. It is a quality product that I know will last even longer than my other gears. Frankly ask yourself a question. Would you be confident putting your gear that probably cost tons in a bag that is flimsy and won't stand the test of time? To this degree, the price of this piece is justified. It's well thought out and built with quality component. It has its trade offs, focusing on functionality will eventually translate to loads of redundancy features and designs, and further leading to the weight of the empty bag. It's not light, it's rugged, it's tough. It has tons of redundant features at your disposal, for carrying, space management, protection, and, wait for it, more carrying space. It's lighter than hard shell cases, it has ergonomic for long trips. So, if you are carrying all your gears with you for your landscape or on location shooting, is this a good choice for you? Hell yes. If you are casually using it for everyday carrying or minimalistic capturing tasks, maybe it's a little over-engineered for these and you might have better choice from PD or elsewhere. As to the style, take it or leave it, it's a matter of personal tastes and hell there has never been an 'one size fit all' kind of deal. It's modern , it's ' San Francisco ', it's not retro by any mean, I like it, and I will take it to the city, to the trail, with confidence.I believe the technology and design will eventually come to the point where the weight and functionality is no longer a dilemma. As for now, this is still in my humble opinion, the best camera back pack available in the market.
