This is a great set if you draw a lot of animals or birds. Very neutral colours that work wonderfully together. It comes with the usual few sponges and the ends to go on the tools, which I find a bit pointless if you don't have the tool.My set arrived with about 4 of the pans smashed up inside, however I don't think that's a huge issue as they still work.Obviously this set only comes with one lid, so if you wanted to keep them separate you would need to buy extra lids. I quite like them stacked though as it's neater and space saving.I used the set as the underpainting on this horse, I was very pleased with how they blended.

I am delighted with the PanPastels themselves although they did not arrive as a solid cake as I believed they would, they were a light crumbly powder. However, I cannot help but express my disgust at this company for not providing lids for each individual pack, and I have had to order these at extra cost (in these little tower packs the base containing one colour is the lid for the one below it - you therefore cannot store/arrange them separately/). As the product is so good and unique it is difficult to retaliate by not ordering them again, so I am expressing my annoyance at this penny-pinching by dropping the number of stars I am giving them. I have worked with cell/tissue culture plastic dishes that were cheaper than the payment I had to make for the essential (in my mind) plastic lids.

After reading the review I was a little apprehensive as some of the Pans seem to come damaged but I still wanted to try them as I have heard great things. Well!! all 10 came in perfect condition and they look fantastic and silky. I know some people have issues as there is only one lid, but the others all screw on top of each other, so for me no issue at all.A label with all the colours come with, that wrap around the whole cylinder. This is the only slight and I mean slight issue as it may have been better to have a colour on the side of each dish so you know what is in each pot instead of having to go back to the label and counting down to the colour you need.Would I recommend? YES. I know it is not cheap but the quality is fantastic and goes a lot further and is easier to blend than sticks or pencils. Comes with a few tools, a little bit small for my hands but I did not buy for the tools. Overall, 10/10 for me.

I anxiously awaited the arrival of my new pan pastels. It took about two weeks to arrive. When they did three of the colors were crumbled. Such a shame. I contacted Amazon to see if there was a way to replace the pans that were damaged but they could not. They did however give me a full refund and let me keep the pans that were good. These pastels were packed in such a way that they bounced around in a big box with no padding to keep them safe. I do love Amazon though because they always put the customer first.

i would think that this set i received having been damaged is due to bad handling, during packing or delivery.4 of the colours are totally unusable as they have been knocked and are just pans of coloured chunks.the rest of the pans are fantastic and am thoroughly enjoying using them and would highly recommend if you can receive this item intact. may i suggest that better packaging or at least a fragile sticker be put on any future purchases
