DALIIO-6 Noise Canceling Wireless Over-Ear Headphones - Denmark (Iron Black)

I had the left earcup have a low humming/buzzing sound. Very distracting. Also they are quite heavy, have a very high clamping pressure which I don't like, and earcups that are too small. These are not comfortable to wear especially for a long time. They are quite flat in profile, but the sound stage seems better than my Wh-1000xm4. I don't recommend them. Even if your pair works and you like the sound profile, they are not comfortable and can become painful to wear over a long time.

To start off with, I compared these back to back with the Bowers & Wilkins PX7's and the new Sony XM4's. I also have wired Sony 7506's, V600's and vintage Pioneers. The reason I recommend managing your expectations is that, compared to a decent pair of mid-priced wired headphones, these are pretty good. Very neutral, clean, and sharp in their response. Almost like the 7506's in their sound profile in that they have a very "studio monitor" kind of feel, not bass heavy with a slight roll off of the highs. Dali seems to focus their headphones on music instead of noise cancelling (NC), and that's fine by me. Sony, on the other hand, is the exact opposite of the spectrum. They push NC so much that you can never escape the digital signal processing. No matter how much you tweak them, that oversampled, over-processed sound is right there, overwhelming the music. Bowers takes a slightly different path by creating their own signature sound. It sounds amazing, for like 30 minutes, then it falls apart. I prefer to compare the 3 like this, the Bowers are like sitting stage center, front row at a rock concert. Everything is right there, present and loud, but after a couple of songs, you realize the guitarist's amp is too close and you need to move back a bit from the stage because your ears are starting to hurt. Certain frequencies and instruments are boosted too high and, while fun for a hot minute, can't be enjoyed long term. The Dali's are like sitting in the middle of that same audience. Back far enough to appreciate all the instruments, none of them are louder than any other, and everything's clear and balanced. The Sony's are similar to the Dali's in that way, but you have a bag over your head making everything muddled. And no, I'm not bashing the Sony's like many self-proclaimed audiophiles, they mainly do one thing really, really well, noise cancelling...that's it. Turn them off, then on again, NC comes on automatically. No setting can change that. Tweak the audio to clean them up, they still sound processed. No escaping that. The Bowers are fine for teenagers or anyone eating "Extreme" anything. The Dali's are a nice sounding first, noise cancelling second, pair of headphones. BT connectivity and range are great. The deep male notification voice is a nice departure from the norm, and you have the options of feeding in audio through a standard headphone cable (use your own amp...yay!), or through the USB while charging at the same time. Bonus for long trips. I kept the Dali's and returned the other two. While the NC of the Dali's isn't anywhere near Sony or Bose, that's not why I was buying headphones in the first place. It's good enough to reduce flying fatigue and noisy fans, but the clarity of music is where these shine most.

These are a headphone that puts musical engagement first. They are not spectacularly detailed, and they have a "laid back" approach to music presentation, but they are hugely engaging and they draw you into the music. Tonally neutral / slightly warm. Always a pleasure to listen to.Pros: An easy and engaging listen. Good passive isolation and minimal sound leakage. Comfortable.Cons: Not the most detailed sound. Noise cancellation average. Some circuit noise audible when no music playing.

Haptik und Qualität:Nach dem Ausgepacken und man findet eine gute Anfassqualität, die Ohrpolster sind weich und dick und der Tragekomfort ist gut, allerdings erzeugt der Bügel bei meinem großen Kopf mit der Zeit einen unangenehmen Druck. Er könnte etwas größer und besser gepolstert sein. Äußerst gut ist die passive Geräuschdämmung. Sie ist so gut, dass man in vielen Situationen auf NC verzichten kann. Insgesamt haben die Kopfhörer eine sehr gute Verarbeitungsqualität, bis auf das Bügelproblem.Technik und Funktionalität:Das Kopfhörer haben Bluetooth 5, die Kopplung ist unproblematisch und schnell gemacht, aber es ist nur eine BT-Connection möglich. Die allerdings ist sehr stabil. Man liest bei vergleichbaren Kopfhörern anderer Hersteller, dass mehrere möglichen BT-Connections häufig von Verbindungs-Problemen begleitet werden. Das kann man beim Dali ausschließen.Als Audio-Codecs werden AAC, aptX, aptX HD unterstützt. Außerdem finden wir eine 3,5 mm Klinke als analogen Audio-Anschluss, der einen passiver Betrieb ermöglicht, falls der Akku nicht mehr mitspielt. Bei anderen Herstellern geht genau das nicht.Die Kopfhörer haben einen USB-C Port zum Laden und Hören. Das funktioniert sehr gut.NC funktioniert und bringt deutliche Verbesserungen bei Umgebungsgeräuschen. Wer viel reist, sollte sie auf alle Fälle nehmen (Dali i0-6), sonst geht es auch ohne (Dali i0-4). Wenn man NC ausgeschalten lässt, verlängert sich die Akkulaufzeit deutlich. Die Laufzeit ohne NC beträgt bis zu 60h. Das ist ein sehr guter Wert.Auffällig ist die sehr gute und stabile Qualität beim Telefonieren. Gesprächs-Annahme und -Beenden erfolgt per Knopfdruck.Kommen wir zum Wichtigsten, dem Klang: Die Kopfhörer haben eine wunderbar hohe Auflösung, alle Details sind sehr gut zu hören. Das Klangbild wird aus den Mitten heraus aufgebaut, die Tiefen werden mit beherrschter Kraft ohne Effekthascherei abgegeben und in den Höhen wird keine Show veranstaltet. Kurz das Klangbild ist einfach sauber und definiert.Um es auch mal anders zu sagen sagen, Leute mit leicht verfälschten Hörgewohnkeiten im Bass (Techno, Elektronic) sind hier falsch. Dafür gibt es Kopfhörer anderer Hersteller, die diese Art zu Hören künstlich unterstützen.Ich mag den natürlichen Klang mit seiner hohen Auflösung, ich mag die ausgereifte Technik und hohe Verarbeitungsqualität. Wenn ich mir etwas wünschen könnte, dann eine 2. BT-Connection, weil man beim Arbeiten am PC doch auch gerne seine Anrufe auf dem Phone mitbekommen möchte und ein wenig mehr Komfort am Bügel.
