The piece count for this set is over 750, but it has quite a compact footprint. The verticality of the set is readily apparent and it contains lots of fun details, trap doors, a swing open hinge for accessible play. The security doors are wonderfully constructed. The build time was about 1.5 very leisure hours. Lots of custom pieces (rock formations, stairs). The overall construction is quite robust. Only problem areas are the main exercise yard walls, which don't lock into the main structure and can be pushed over, though this may be intentional for daring escapes. Comes with a helicopter, police boat, dingy and an ingenious hot air balloon.

Fabulous set! Lots of playability for all ages. My favorite is the hot air balloon but we also like the mini zodiac raft and the police boat. My 7 year old's favorite part is the escape hatch in the basement. There is a knob that you pull to flip the bed down to reveal the escape hatch. You open the gate and the minifigs fly out! He also like the electrical control room with the details of the lock and controls.Pieces that come with this are: hot air balloon, zodiac raft, police boat, mini police helicopter and 8 mini figures (including a Police Chief and new body armored police officer). The building is made up of two sections ( with BURP big rock pieces to decorate) plus the helipad. The main building section has the glassed in outlook with satellite and warning lights, police offices and below large jail cell. The second section has one jail cell with police catwalk (lookout) on top. The second building has the main escape hatch while the lager jail cell (in section 1) the bars are pulled off for a less dramatic escape.This is my son's favorite police set and that means a lot considering he has a ton of new and old police sets. This is highly recommended as we play with it daily. Once we even used the Fire Ship, and a boat and plane my son created to play Amazon drop off to Prison Island and the light house from the Fire Ship. My 9, 7 and 5 year old can play with this together for lots of enjoyment. Set is comprised of 6 large books and 8 bags of pieces.Would be great for any Lego Police collector or your favorite Lego builder!
