VERMONT CREAMERY Mascarpone, 16 OZ

First order placed 09/17/23, lost by shipper (??-UPS), credited by Amazon, re-order placed 09/30/23 and received via USPS Priority on 10/05/23. Fairly well packaged in insulated container with cold pack--moderate temperature on arrival, but product seemed unspoiled. Had made a "mascarpone substitute" previously using heavy cream, sour cream and cream cheese, but had a slight "twang" taste from the cream cheese. Product from Vermont Creamery was smoother, a bit sweeter in taste, and will try in recipes I have to see how different final result will be. At more than $30/lb, not sure cost will justify taste difference, but will see and update this review if significant improvement.

Ice packs were melted. Contacted Vermont Creamery and they said to contact Amazon. Amazon said it would not accept return. Out $35. Let's face it. We can all find goo mascarpone locally. Extremely disappointed in Vermont Creamery.
