This is not the aluminum cage look it is black as shown in my photos. Not as advertised.
The part looks good, cage is black steel not silver aluminum look. It shifts nice and crisp. I replaced a SRAM X4. Happy other than I wanted the silver cage.

Sram X5 9 Speed derailleur good choice?
In the world of 9 speed bicycle gear sets, it seems to be shrinking for 10/11 speed cassettes. I had a Sram X7 rear derailleur on my recumbent which uses 140 link chain. It wore out from shifting and the stress of that long chain (extra weight) it did a very good job of keeping the chain tension and shift properly when needed. I tried to find the replacement for the X7 but, it seems it's no longer in production. I have grip shifters and it is 1:1 actuation ratio and you must use a derailleur with the same ratio. I ended up trying the Sram X5 which is a down grade in equipment level. I mention this not to be a bike snob but the X7 is a high quality piece when compared to X5. It won't last as long but after using it my shifts are crisp and fast. I did replace my chain and cassette plus new shift cables. It restored the pleasure of riding my recumbent.

Used to replace the original. Easy as pie.
I actually left the original partially connected while I swapped in the new one. If you are a person that ever works on bikes, it could not have been easier.Once in, it works flawlessly. ` Satisfied customer.

Perfect replacement
This arrived 3 days early so I could fix my bike over the weekend. It was a perfect replacement for my older broken SRAM derailleur. It was easy to adjust and shifts smoothly.

Easy install, shifts flawlessly
I installed this on an older Giant mountain bike that I've converted to electric power. Setup was easy (and I'm a total newbie at it!), and it just clicks up and down with never a missed shift. So far, two months riding under power, and no issues at all.

Nice piece, but not for me
This is a nicely designed and made derailleur. Unfortunately I had to return it because it was incompatible with my shifters. (maybad) SRAM derailleurs have a 1:1 actuation ratio where Shimano has 2:1.
