Apartment Life Saver!
If you’re bringing home a furry friend and you live in a smaller space or further away from grass whether it be in the suburbs or on the 20th floor, this pee pad will change YOUR LIFE! Our puppy has his own little patch of grass right outside our patio door. We live on the second floor of our apartment complex in Utah and we have a 6 month old baby. So between the weather and our baby, getting a puppy who REALLY needs to go potty on a leash, baby safely in pack and play, poop bags ready to go, accidents are bound to happen ALOT. Knowing all this, I planned ahead of time and had this ready to go before we even brought him home and I think because that’s how we started, it’s making this process a HUGE success so INVEST in it before you even bring puppy home! At first all he wanted to do was lay on it which was in almost every review I read, so when he had his first pee accident, I used a puppy pee pad to absorb it and I set it out on his grass pad so every time I took him out, he’d smell his pee. I took him out frequently and as soon as he went potty, I had treats ready to go. Lots of praise and trips and before you know it, he’s headed toward being fully potty trained in an apartment! The urine pad that comes with this absorbs and I mean ABSORBES! It held 4 days worth of (puppy sized piddles) without so much as a DROP on the tray! I’m going to buy a second one so we can use it while the other is being washed. Get this product because of that pee pad, it’s a game changer, I PROMISE! If you buy one without that absorbent pad the urine will pool up and you’ll be scrubbing the tray so keep that in mind, trust me, you’ll be glad you did. CLEAN UP THE POOP IMMEDIATELY! The grass is plastic and EASY to clean so take advantage of it and don’t let it get nasty! I have a trash can outside, and poop bags and unscented baby wipes ready to go and, of course, puppy treats for immediate positive reinforcement! Because the grass is easy to clean, all you have to do is bag up the poop, wipe any smudges off the grass, tie it up, throw it in the trash can and BAM, you’re potty training apartment style and your neighbors won’t smell a thing and you don’t have to worry about leaving your precious littles alone in the apartment on the second floor so your puppy can potty, or tote them down with puppy in time to make it. If you maintain the grass pad by wiping off the poop, it’ll make hosing it off a lot easier. (I just use the shower and then Clorox the shower when I’m done.) The pad is a decently large size without overwhelming your space and your dog won’t take forever to *find a spot* 😂. We have a golden retriever and he was 8 weeks old when we brought him home so because we were training him from the beginning, he’ll be a pro and he’ll still have plenty of room to go potty when he’s full grown. (We also keep pee pads around our home for accidents and because they’re scented to attract and we used ONLY ONE to get him started on the turf he caught on fairly quickly and tries his best to make it to the pad. If he uses the pee pads in the house, I DO NOT consider it an accident and I praise him and give him treats for using it. Even if his aim was a little off but he was still trying. Pee pads are our friends and I want him to understand that it’s better to use those if he can’t make it outside than to just puddle on the floor!!! Accidents DO happen, so have spot cleaner ready to go, maybe pick up your rugs if that’s an option. Poop bags, poop bags and more poop bags! Use plastic grocery sacks if you have to and keep it all in your trash outside and toss it on trash day 😉. But we would not be able to enjoy our new little puppy NEARLY as much if it weren’t for the convenience this adds to our home. Obviously you still need to take your pup out for fresh air, park and play time, a nice stroll, this pee pad isn’t meant to facilitate keeping your dog locked up in an apartment. If you’re going to bring a furry friend home to a small apartment without a yard, PLEASE remember that they need the exercise. Again, this pad isn’t an excuse to keep them cooped up 😉.HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

It was a good try
This was not what I was hoping it would be but did the job I had a 90 lb German Shepard with a knee replacement that would be unable to walk distance for 6 weeks. This seemed like a decent idea. Sadly the bottom tray was just enough off the ground that she could not step over it but I was able to buy pee pads and use the grass section to lay down over. I think this would work well for anyone with a smaller dog 60 lbs or less or one with the ability to pick up feet a little bit more. I was after all using it for more than just potty training. The absorption mats would not be a good fit for my needs only because the tray was not able to be used.

Indoor pet potty win
My shihtzu loved this! It was easy clean up. The size was perfect for her to sniff and scratch around. Good quality. Kept odors at a minimum. Great for potty training or apartments. Works very well.

Pricy and pad molded!
Took my dog months before she would use it. Then the washable pad got mold after a week of use...tried washing serveral times in hot extended cycles and still had residue and smelled. The tray and grass are easy enough to clean with hot water and Clorox. So I'm stuck with it and it was pretty pricy!

Did what I needed it to but cleaning is obnoxious
Worked for our growing puppies over the winter, we live in 2nd story apt aim Ohio and pups were to small for the winter snow fall. The only thing that sucks was cleaning, there isn’t a drain so you could just spray down. Bringing in washable pad was always a nightmare.

My dog uses it, but it's such a pain to clean, I kinda wish she wouldn't.
I'm in an apartment so I bought this when my puppy was 8 weeks and needed out every 20-30 minutes in the hopes that it would make things more manageable. She's now 13 weeks, and while she will pee on it when we put her out on the patio, she isn't giving us cues that she needs to pee and is just as happy to pee on the living room floor as she is on the grass pad. However, she will poop on it and will wait by the door to be let out to poop on it.That being said, it's not worth it. First, the fake grass material comes out super easily and that's a pain to clean up on it's own. On top of that, my dog started chewing the edges of the mat pretty much immediately and it's now incredibly frayed. Also, it smells. I switch out between the two pads and I clean it daily with an odor/stain remover and an all-purpose antibacterial spray, and it still smells. Poop is incredibly difficult to get out even when it's solid (I end up picking up what I can and then putting it in the shower and spraying it for about 15 minutes). This may be the cheaper option, and I got it because it was reusable, but I wish I had just splurged and bought the real grass option.

Great for house training our puppy
We live in an elevated home so this worked great in house training by putting it on the back porch especially for those 3 am potty breaks. I placed disposable potty pad on top of the included pad. Made clean up a breeze.
