Perfect for me
I love the size and apparent durability of this unit, along with the wise engineering that went into it. I have been brewing coffee in an electric drip coffeemaker for decades. But after touring a Kona coffee farm in Hawaii, we sat in a brewing class. French press was demonstrated and the coffee was amazing. But they are usually single serving presses. THIS one brews 2 cups of my large mugs at once. That is what I drink every morning, so it is sized for my daily usage. But more importantly, it transformed my inexpensive Dunkin Donuts coffee beans into better coffee than I can get at Dunkin itself! It turns out you don’t need to spend big bucks on coffee beans if you have a good brewing method. In addition, this is well suited for traveling. The coffee you get in hotel rooms (K-cup type or prepackaged ground filter pods) are the worst thing with which to start your day. My wife brings her own electric boiler for tea when we travel. So now I can use her boiler to heat water and have the SAME excellent coffee on the road that I enjoy at home. The insulated canister keeps the coffee at the right temp to enjoy the second cup too.I am still working on the finer points of usage. How high to safely fill. How to avoid grounds in your coffee cup. How tight to tighten. How fine to grind the beans. But I have been successful on most occasions, indicating that there are parameters I am not fully aware of yet that will perfect the process.I sense that the plunger assembly may be the weak link over time. But I cannot really find a drawback in my first week with this product that is not the result of a user issue.

Coffee maker
I gave it as a gift to my son. He said it works as advertised, but is a little hard to clean. He would buy it again.

It will leak
I'm a flight nurse and was really looking forward to this coffee maker. Coffee product is great but the mess it makes when it leaks is horrible. Very dissapointed.

Compact Coffee Press Combo
Great to have one item perform as the press, carafe or use as your cup. Appears to be very durable.

Multi purpose all day everyday usage
This is perfect and brews a great tasting coffee. Doubles as a drinkable coffee mug as well as French press. Best part is when I’m done with coffee in the AM I use the cup the remainder of the day for my favorite cold beverage!

Messy and wasteful
The coffee press did seal and prevent brewed coffee from getting bitter. However, the press does not go all the way down to the coffee grounds. About 2-3oz of coffee remain in the bottom twist off part, which spilled all out when trying to open it to clean. Some brewed coffee was wasted and it made a mess. Good idea, but poorly designed. I suggest the company modify it so the press goes all the way into the grounds and no coffee is left to spill or be wasted.

We really wanted to love this…
A French press with a screw bottom?! Is it too good to be true?? The answer is yes. This French press was wildly expensive for what it is. The plunger doesn’t extend deep enough into the bottom part and traps a lot of liquid. When you press the plunger you lose about 1/3 to 1/2 cup of coffee that just won’t come out of the bottom. Unless you use over 1/2 cup of grounds for one French press (which is an insane amount of coffee and I love my coffee strong) then it basically doesn’t do its job and you get trapped with a sloppy, wet and saturated mess below the plunger. It’s like coffee soup. Moreover, the plunger doesn’t even stop the grounds from entering your coffee and when you pour the last cup it’s also a sloppy mess of grounds that are in your now tainted cup of coffee. I can’t believe this design passed quality control.
