Disappointing
I fired this 20 times and it's a great disappointment.First, the primer is not seated back against anything when it's cocked and if you tilt it upwards while installing it the primer could fall inside and not fire.Second, the firing pin is made out of mild steel and the point is very wide. After only 20 shots, the wide point became noticeably blunt. It's nowhere near a real firearm that leaves a small sharp indentation, this thing deforms the entire back of the primer.Third, after only 20 shots, the spring took a set and would be noticeably weaker and loose to the point where it wouldn't fire at all. I had to disassemble it and stretch it a little to give it some more oomph...Fourth, and maybe this is particular to the type of primer I was using (Cheddite CX2000, only thing I could still find available) But 2 times out of 3, the primer would come apart inside and I had to make sure no piece was left with a flashlight before setting it again otherwise it would jam. I suspect this is because it's not seated against anything and when it fires, you just pray that the primer holds together on its own without support.Fifth, assuming the thing fires and the primer holds together, there is no easy way to extract the damn thing. You can't push it out because the vent holes are on the sides and there is no grove or relief to give you a good purchase on the primer. You just got to awkwardly pry it apart with a blade or your nails.Whoever wants to count on this for anything more than just a questionable prank: don't. Good concept but poor design and poor quality materials. This feels like a prototype rather than a market ready thing.

Works great.
I have bears getting up on the 2nd story deck on my house. Trying to get into the kitchen. This stoped them!Instructions were lacking on how to mount it.The eye bolt acts as a spacer so the firing pin does not strike the bottom of the primer with too much force. Even if you mount it differently, put the eye bolt in so the bottom won't shear off. Very important.Several people say it broke the first time they fired it. I bet that was the problem. My photo shows the unit with the safety pin still installed. It's easier to load with the unit mounted up like in the photo. If you go with it down, the primer falls out.It is hard to cock and get the safety pin in holding it in your hand. Screw it together in the eye bolt and it is easy to cock. Unscrew it then put the primer in. ( with the safety pin in) set the string then pull the safety pinout.Super loud. Just what I needed.
