There's a little door on the jack plate you pop open with a thumbnail. I think it houses a stacked pair of LR-44 batteries, or similar size.

Q: How do you attach the strap on the back? There is no strap pin.

I use a neck strap. No pegs required. Like Willie Nelson uses. Search “Double Use Adjustable Nylon Ukulele Strap - Can be Use as Ukulele Neck Strap or Ukulele Shoulder Strap (BLACK)”

Yes it is! The uke is awesome for the price!

The instrument is strung with DGBE strings. This is the norm for baritone ukuleles. An extra set of strings is also included which are GCEA, so you may change them out if you like to the strings used on other ukuleles (soprano, concert, tenor). I personally like the sound of the DGBE. Also, I would highly recommend this ukulele and the Makala baritone ukulele which is about the same price. The Makala is DGBE. If you want GCEA on the instrument, Kmise sells an instrument delivered with GCEA strings all ready strung.
