Excelent value in a utility kilt!
I have bought these kilts directly from Brice at UT Kilts before, shipping them across the boarder with Amazon is just much easier, Fedex brokerage is a pain. The kilts are awesome and priced so that you really can wear them almost everywhere for almost everything.

writing titles is the hardest part of a review
If you've ever worn a kilt before, this review isn't for you. This is my first kilt, so I'm not a kilt expert.1. Go measure the thickest part of your waist RIGHT NOW. Don't think you know what it is. And don't think that there is any give in this kilt, either. There isn't.2. Undo the entire kilt before you try to put it on. Don't try to slide it on like a tube.3. The flat part goes in the front. The belt loops go in the back. There aren't any in the front. You could wear a belt with this, but it would have to be a wide stiff one to look halfway decent.4. The buttons go in the front. There are two buckles on the side to help adjust the fit.5. The pocket flaps on the side can be unbuttoned to store keys and a wallet. There are no pockets for you to stow your hands, if you're used to standing around with your hands in your pockets.6. The material is very heavy duty, almost like an Army tent, but not as rough. This thing will probably last forever.7. It seems like a good cross between a work outfit, like for hiking, and a formal outfit, like for a ceremony. I bought a Scotland t-shirt to wear with this, and the t-shirt seems a bit casual and light-duty for it (pajama-like?). I also think I need to get some hiking boots with wool socks to wear with this.8. If you want to return it, the sellers are very nice and accommodating. But you will also be out 20 bucks.Wearing a kilt for the first time is strange. You initially feel like you are wearing a dress. But when you take it off and put on shorts, you will feel even weirder, like you are wearing some skimpy outfit. So you'll go and put the kilt back on. Now it feels cool. Functional. Manly, because you are ready for anything: formals, chopping wood, laying around, flashing women who ask the obvious. You then cut off the tag and smile, because you now own a kilt, and you can feel your beard growing even thicker.

Cheap, Stiff, but it Does the Job
I got my standard utility kilt and I'm neither impressed nor disappointed. It is perfectly adequate for the price point, though it is certainly no replacement for my classic Utilikilt brand utility kilt. The fabric is stiff and it doesn't have as much swing as I'd like - the few and shallow pleats make for a very stilted movement - if you spin, the kilt's hem doesn't spin out like a dervish - it kinda blooms a bit and then settles right back down. It has no fullness, no life, and that makes me sad.Maybe after a few washes the fabric will become less stiff. What it does have is fit.It fits just as intended, sits where it needs to be, and fits correctly without need for adjustment. You can adjust snaps on both sides of the kilt, so the 38 inch I got probably adjusts out to 39ish. Had I known it was that customizable, I might have gotten the 36 and wore it on the loosest setting since I'm in the midst of losing weight. That said, it is perfectly fine for the price, and as something to have while waiting for my weight to stabilize. I don't give it a high recommendation, but it is fine enough for an introductory utility-style kilt, and the price can't be beat, but it just doesn't compete with the original.

Disappointed with this one.
First off, I'll say that I own 6 kits from UT Kilts. So far they have all been great. I am concerned about the kilts longevity (as I am with most products). This utility kilt from them is exactly why I have concerns. I have only worn this kilt twice. Both times were only for a few hours in a casual environment. As you can see, after only being worn twice, the stitching in a small area as come out. I'm very nervous about it being laundered for the first time as that will surely pull apart any more loose stitching. This is an easy repair for me, but I've only worn it twice and having to repair anything on it at this point shouldn't even be a thought. I'm disappointed with the quality of this one.
