White Mountain Puzzles Van Gogh - 1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle

This is a great puzzle. Pieces go together well and hold together. Pieces are a manageable size even being a 1000 pieces.The picture is colorful and I’m learning more of Van Gogh through putting this puzzle together. It’s not an easy puzzle but is quite doable if you concentrate on the details in painting.Definitely enjoying this puzzle!

This puzzle is so fun to work and it is just simply beautiful to look at. An extra benefit to this one is that while assembling each individual painting I was given a deeper appreciation of the absolutely spectacular genius that Van Gogh possessed by being able to closely examine the components of what went into each painting. This is a really, really nice puzzle and is not frustrating. It is really rewarding to be able to study these paintings up close and I felt like I was actually inside of them. It's not overly easy and sorting the pieces does take quite a bit of time but there is so much wonderful variety in color tones and brightness that it is really a joyful experience. I try to allocate just an hour or two each day to puzzle solving so it doesn't really dominate my free time but it was pretty hard to stay within those confines while assembling this one because I was enjoying myself so much. Another great, fabulous puzzle from White Mountain, probably the best US puzzle maker that there is!

I rarely write a review but this is one of the most beautiful puzzles I have ever assembled as it includes 24 works of art by Vincent Van Gogh.If you admire Van Gogh, you will recognize that this puzzle includes many of his most famous and beloved masterpieces, including Starry Night, Sunflowers, Irises and Cafe Terrace. I went to a Van Gogh exhibition in 2012 that included 40 of his works and seeing them all together made you realize how much beauty the artist saw in the natural world. Even when his illness progressed to the point that he had himself committed to a hospital in France, he was still able to paint many scenes of the hospital's garden, including Irises. His unique brushstrokes and use of colour are an expression of pure joy.Like all previously purchased White Mountain puzzles, the pieces are of high quality cardboard that are cleanly and uniquely cut, making it fun to put together and easy to take apart. Other brands sometimes are poorly cut, with pieces still stuck together and sometimes crumpled or torn from the cutting process. I would also recommend Eurographics as it also produces colourful, high quality, well designed puzzles that allow you to work on one part of the puzzle at a time.

High quality. Because it is a collage of Van Gogh paintings, every section of the puzzle is different and interesting.

This was a very fun puzzle. The pieces interlocked well and it was fun to work on the various paintings. Good quality puzzle. I will be doing it again.

I like White Mountain Puzzles and this one, as the others, has great graphics. The Van Gogh medley is detailed enough to see the wonder of Van Gogh's paintings and is a great way to learn his different works. It definitely interested me enough to learn more about certain paintings and I think would work well as a teaching tool with a young adult who likes art.My problem with this puzzle is that it seemed used. It had so many bent pieces and peeling that I felt that was put together and taken apart once before. I have no way to tell if this true as it came packaged normally - shrink wrap on outside and pieces in a sealed plastic bag. These defects are not normal for White Mountain Puzzles and since I did get enjoyment out of it, I did not want to return it.I recommend this puzzle and hope that the next purchaser gets a better quality puzzle.

Lots of variety - great tribute to Van Gogh. It's a challenge, but lots of fun!

This was a fun puzzle because of the sheer variety of paintings included in it. The quality was good, pieces all present and accounted for. The one learning I got from it was, don't do a standalone puzzle of the sunflowers or irises - both paintings of Van Gogh that I love. After doing these miniature versions, a whole puzzle of either of those paintings would be maddening as it's challenging to differentiate the various flowers! Loved this one, though. Highly recommended.
