Durable and warm
This is a heavy weight, basic style hoodie. Comfortable loose fit and the lining breaks the wind. The hood is large and comfortable protection from wind, cold and rain. The zipper works well and the one side pocket has a smaller pocket inside, the two side pockets have flaps that keep things inside even during movement and there’s a zipper pocket inside. This hoodie is excellent value for the money durable enough for work and basic enough for casual wear.

Great jacket.
Excellent quality. Heavy and rain resistant. XL fit well for length as I am 6’2. Would recommend.

High quality
This version with the lining screams high quality. I also ordered the version of the Rain Defender without the lining. This one is warmer, and should factor into which one you looking to purchase. Also this one has flaps that help keep things from falling out of your pockets. The basic Rain Defender did not. The thing I don't like about Carhartt brand is even after washing in cold water, they always fade. So don't plan on this keeping that nice color it had when it was new. One wash and it's gone.

Excellent, runs large
Excellent jacket. Runs large, I usually wear large hoodies and ordered a medium and it fit perfectly while still able to have a hoodie on under.

Warm and Water-Resistant
Nice and warm, easy to put on and has a nice zipper. My only complaint is that one of the rivets that the drawstring around the hood comes through has popped out after the 2nd time in the washer, hence the 4 stars instead of 5. However, other than that, the jacket has held up nicely. I've worn it to work outdoors, traveling in both rain and snow, and every weather condition I've run into since I bought it. I wore it all winter, and never found that it was too light or heavy for most cooler days. One thing to consider is that it is physically bulkier than a normal sweat jacket, but it is still comfy and warm.

Outstanding jacket
Excellent Carhartt that is very warm and comfortable. Carhartt costs more but the quality of Carhartt products justifies the cost.

Dollar for dollar, Carhartt is the heavyweight champ.
You just can't beat these jackets, period. I'm well past taking into consideration what any branding logos or style represent and only care about how a jacket fits, how well it's made and how well it protects from the elements. You can't beat a good Carhartt. There's been no breakdowns in pockets, cuffs, zippers, seams and we're talking years of daily winter usage. Pockets, inside and out, are of generous size and things don't go tumbling out on their own. Worth every penny. I suppose one could spend a great deal more money on a utilitarian type outerwear but I can't believe that product would keep you dryer or warmer that a good Carhartt.
