Steamforged Games Dark Souls: The Board - Gaping Dragon Boss

The boss model in the gaping dragon expansion, as some models in other expanions must first be assembled. In my current experience (owning all up to date expansions, it has the most peices to assemble for a single mega boss model. However, the peices are so ill fitting it is simply impossible to attach each peice. I found that while the arms and tail of this model fit well enough, the four wings do not; not even a little. I spent some time trying to get the wings in. I managed to get the top two wings planted, though the cut of the shapes was terrible and didn't sit in the slots properly, thus, fall out on their own. In all fairness, the mexhanics this expansion brings is fun and refreshing, but the model is just awful to contened with in terms of assembly. Hardly worth the money I paid for it and I am most upset about it. I shall think twice before buying another model with multiple parts. Its such a shame that I wouldn't be able to play the game with the model in its full glory.

...und das ist großartig, denn diese gewaltige Figur (die man auch noch erst zusammenbauen muss) strotz nur so vor Details und ist ein tolles Abbild des Bosses aus dem Videospiel "Dark Souls".Die Miniatur ist großartig verarbeitet, strotzt vor Details und ist eine Prestige-Figur, die leidenschaftliche Brettspieler und Gamer von Darksouls besitzen sollten!Aber Achtung: Zum richtigen Spielen dieser Erweiterung ist das Basisspiel "Darksouls the Boardgame" zwingend notwendig!Der Detailgrad, die Größe und hochwertige Verarbeitung von Figur und Zubehör rechtfertigt den hohen Preis. Und wenn man - wie ich - ein Miniature-Painter ist, hat man abseits des Spiels noch etliche Stunden Spaß am individuellen Design und Bemalen der Figur!

While the Miniature of this Expansion looks pretty nice once assembled and is massive in scale compared to other miniatures in the game, it was certainly difficult to put together even with the classic hot water trick and some minor shaving of the limbs. There are 8 pieces (body, 4 wings, 2 arms and 1 Tail) and none of the limbs fit quite right to the body. The huge number of small details as well as various seams on the miniature, this will not be easy to paint even with Green stuff, and is even leaving me reconsidering painting my Dark Souls Miniatures as a result. However, the expansion was at least fun to play and the Mega Boss Expansions certainly switch up the game, though their pricetag is certainly not cheap and they are difficult to find in high quantities.

Espansione davvero molto bella. La "miniatura" è gigantesca (circa 12cm di altezza) e incredibilmente dettagliata. L'unica pecca sta nel montaggio: per fare in modo che i pezzi entrino al loro posto è necessario ammorbidire la plastica delle giunture con dell'acqua bollente, se non rifinirle un po' con un taglierino. Il risultato finale risulta però davvero stupendo considerato che una volta sistemata la plastica i pezzi si incastreranno perfettamente e basteranno davvero pochi secondi per montare la miniatura.Considero che per chi ama dark souls quest'espansione sia decisamente un must have.

Great addition to the game, the design of the model is the only low point as it requires cutting down the connections to fit the pieces together.Otherwise a great expansion and the content adds enough to make the game feel fresh.
