It is a very effective anchor for my 9 ft diameter umbrella above the 7 foot long patio table with the receiving hole and rubber wedge in the mid centre. Its not at all possible to completely empty the water before putting it away; but that is no bother since the majority can be emptied and the cap is water tight. Excellent device!

I have a small patio that gets full sun all summer in Arizona. We also have flash floods with strong winds and had to take the umbrellas down as soon as the wind starts. I didn’t make it home during the last storm. This base held the umbrella firmly in place. Jt withstood the wind while the other umbrella with the other stand was flipped over and tipped some plants over. I gave it a 4 star on maneuverability because it is really heavy and I was moving to a different place on the patio and couldn’t do it. BUT I would rather have it heavy than not so I recommend buying if you need your umbrellas to stay in place. I am ordering another one.

I bought the Square shaped umbrella stand and used water to fill each square. Each square is about 20-25lbs. Total = 80-100lbs.When installed, there are 4 metal anchors that are used to pull all pieces together by pulling them tighter and closer together.The base fits most patio umbrellas with an Steel cross base as shown in my images. The 4 umbrella base sections are made to overlap each cross section of the frame of the umbrella, which I tried to show in one of my images.Overall, this was a good buy and a very sturdy product. I would recommend.

Bought this with the shade, have used it for over a year, and it's sturdy but still easy to move when I need to move it.
