Love these sunglasses
This is my 3rd pair of Costa sunglasses and i love them all. They are all polarized and do a great job of blocking out the light. I have 1 pair with the polycarbonate (plastic) lenses, and two with the 580G or glass lenses. My advice is pay the extra and get the glass lenses, they are more scratch resistant and don't really add that much weight, i really can't tell the difference between them. Also if the lenses on the glass version scratch costa will replace them one time. You will be out of luck with the plastic ones.

Gift
Haven’t given this as a Christmas present yet, but this is what my SIL picked out as that is the only brand of sunglasses he wears. We’ll see after he gets them but so far they look great 👍🏻

Good but not a Maui Jim replacement
I got this to replace my 2nd Maui Jim Red Sands that I had left on a table at a party and forgotten about. I couldn't justify spending another $230 for sunglasses and came across these that were similar in stylr and size that were on sale for just over $100. For half the price of a Maui Jim, I thought why not.Pros: I was surprised they made these with glass lenses and they were still just as lightweight. They're true mirror lenses so others aren't able to see your eyes unlike the red sands. Being real glass, they are quite clear but I can't tell if they really are clearer than polycarbonate lenses. I haven't taken these out fishing on the lake or ocean yet but that's what Costas were made for so looking forward to see how well they perform in their natural environment.Cons: Being glass lenses, they are not shatter resistant like plastic lenses so I won't be wearing them while riding my bicycle in case I faceplant on the sidewalk again- hence getting a 2nd pair of red sands as I believe they saved my eyes. They're a bit smaller than my Red Sands so they're not as comfy. They wear a bit tight on my big head so a bit squeezy. They also don't have adjustable nose pads so they rest on my high cheek bones.Although I am satisfied with them especially for the price, I am now questioning on whether I should have gotten these with glass lenses because my goto eyewear is now my Ray-Ban aviators which are also glass lenses. Would have been nice to have a sunglass with polycarbonate lenses for more physical activities.
