I originally bought one, it worked so well I bought another.
I originally bought one, it worked so well I bought another. The first one has been working well for a month, it is sturdy, well made and I don't foresee any problems. It is very easy to fit - the instructions have few words, which is good as the pictures are so easy to follow. There are red pressure indicators on the gate and when you have tightened the gate enough these are pushed in so you cannot see them. This results in a gate that is securely held, but hasn't damaged the walls. The sizing is very flexible due to cheap extender packs. Measure your gap before you buy, then buy what you need. I use one gate with one bar from this extender (here: BabyDan Extend-a-Gate 13 cm Extension Kit (White) ) and another with two bars. Both are sturdy and my daughter regularly shakes the rails, telling us she wants to get through. The pictures show it installed. I would reverse it, if I were doing it again, so that the button is away from the side your child is on. Also, note the bar at the bottom - you won't find a gate without it that doesn't need the walls drilling. I don't think it is a trip hazard as you are always aware you are going through the gate, but as you can see, it is not a problem here as it is around the corner from the top of the stairs. My other one is at the bottom of some other stairs. The other thing we considered was whether a self closing gate was better - we decided against this. I haven't found it to be a problem at all, this way it is more convenient that you can leave it open or closed. Opening is easy with one hand - push the button, lift the handle, lift the whole gate and swing.I really don't think I could have made a better buy. BabyDan Extend-a-Gate 13 cm Extension Kit (White)

Tried others but always come back to BabyDan
We decided to have another child after getting rid of most of our baby stuff, including our Baby Dan gates. I did go out to a well known retailer to buy a gate and found it difficult to put together and not fit for use so went straight back to Baby Dan, ordering three more online. They are easy to put together, easy to install and thanks to a new design on the release catch even easier to open than before. They expand and contract in width thanks to an easy to use expansion system and can fit anything from door ways to stairs easily. I cannot recommend these enough as they are simply the best on the market and the easiest to assemble and use.

Great with skirting boards!
I bought this as I have the park-a-kid already and needed some stair gates for my 8 month old. The main reason to buy this one was the fact it is both adjustable and pressure mounted, meaning crucially that it can be used in a hallway with tall skirting boards and wonky walls as each fixing point can be adjusted and doesn’t need to be the same length... and no screws/DIY are required! The base bar is thin and I’m not worried I’ll trip over it. I like that it’s not auto closing so I can leave it open when the baby is not around, less annoying in the evenings!I also found like other reviewers that it will go slightly bigger than the description, my walls are 73 at the bottom and 76 at the top and this was fine with a few cm or two more I could have safely used it for at the top.Also... it fixes at 4 points vs the cheaper BabyDan one that’s for sale on amazon as a 2 pack which only fixes at 3 points so less sturdy... depends where you plan to use it I guess as to what you buy.Quality is great, the instructions were quite daunting at first but only because it included how to do extensions so just ignore this section!Made the mistake of using against a stud wall first and put a hole through it. This really does need a proper wall, or door frame to brace against. The handle is quite stiff but I can see from other reviews that this will soften with use hopefully.Would recommend! ❤️

Quick Assembly & Sturdy Product
I needed the gate to stop our dog pestering our new rabbit. The gate was easy to assemble, the only problem I had was the instructions could have been more informative but that's probably just me and my lack of assembly skills. I ended up watching a video on YouTube of a similar gate being assembled. After that, it was very quick to assemble about 10 minutes total and very straightforward. It's really strong holding too incase the dog jumps up against it. I only wish these were taller, I had to elevate mine a good bit from the ground to have it high enough for dog not to jump over and because of that I have to make sure that the gap left underneath has a barrier in place so dog cannot get under either. Otherwise, I would recommend this product. It's a great product for intended use (baby and toddler safety)

Feels very safe and secure.
Once fitted, to stop our baby grandson entering, the kitchen it felt very secure. It has been in place about 4 months and works well. We have 2 minor gripes:-1. Instructions were really poor - made Ikea build instruction look like the gold standard.2. As a feeble woman, I am unable to unlock the gate with one hand. This is a bit irritating if I’m trying to carry something.
