Q: how to clean or keep clean

You don't really need to do much beyond using a sponge and some Fantastic to wipe off any spills you may get on it. They are fairly durable and you can get about 2 years out of them before you begin to notice it is getting close time to replace it. They make a very good product and thanks for the question. I'll be ordering another before the month is out. Good people that run this place by the way.

Q: will the backing of this bamboo mat stain the floor?

No, the backing will not stain the floor --- we use two bamboo mats in the kitchen so they occasionally get wet and there is no problem with staining.

Q: Does anyone know if the bamboo are sewn to the backing or glued?

Sewn, and still love my bamboo mat... Trust me this mat is worth the purchase.

Q: How is this rug cleaned?

With a damp cloth or towel, like a hard surface floor.
