Used on my 1991 Miata in the upper control arm. Worked wonders and pressed all the way in with ease. Use proper C-clip pliers, I used some Lisle pliers that inverted to open the clip and was very easy. The boot was pretty ridiculous to install and I ended up using a 36mm socket to hammer it on, and still wasn't perfectly on there but was enough to keep it on the lip.

Impossible boot
Overall quality is decent but the boot is a nightmare.

Well made.
Product is class A; like the fact that it has a grease fitting. Installe in a Mazda Miata NA.

Good for a 1999 Miata but requires some patience
Ball joint is a good fit and the greasable fitting is a nice addition. The included castle nut is too tall (or the threads are too short) and blocks the cotter pin hole on a 1999 Miata. I used the old castle nut and had to only use 1 leg of the cotter pin to get it to fit. The dust boot is an extremely tight fit and I had to fashion a holder out of the neck of a sports drink bottle and use the ball joint press to get the boot on. (see picture)

Quality part with a design safety feature not even promoted
This is a specialty suspension part which allows for the replacement of worn or damaged Miata upper control arm ball joint. OEM design is a pressed in ball joint which the OEM only provides for servicing of the ball joint boot seal. many times the ball joint loosens at the control arm stamped steel opening. The design of this special service part which provides the capability to replace only the ball joint has a special retaining ring groove and supplied spiral lock snap ring that captures the newly install ball joint from moving up from its pressed in position. For those of us who race these cars and use special upper control arm offset bushings this is a real benefit as the effort and cost to replace and remove these offset bushings is avoided and the new ball joint is a high quality well engineered part.

Great replacements for a "non-replaceable" stock part
Great replacements for a "non-replaceable" stock part. Easy to hammer out the old ones and press in these. Tack weld them in place if you're paranoid like me. :)

Boot is awful/impossible to get on
The ball joints is fine, greese fiting is nice. The boot is impossible to get on, I ripped one and then spend time being careful, went and got a PVC pipe the appropriate size trying to nicely tap it on, used silicone spare/lube whatever, heated it up with a hairdryer the works 2nd one ripped too. I ended up taking the arm off the car for the second one. Just spend the extra money and get the whole set up.
