Invest in a good vacuum, you're going to need it.
Shockingly effective. I was unprepared for the sheer amount of car hair this tool took off my cats. Use this tool outside or in a small easily cleaned space because you will be left will TONS of dead cat hairs floating around.

Shockingly effective
In an attempt to spend less time cleaning the floors, I am always on the lookout for a better cat brush. We have one of pretty much every style and I was hesitant to purchase this one. The price was fairly high for a cat brush and I didn't think it would be much different than the dozen brushes we already have in terms of hair removal. I was SO wrong! I have NEVER seen so much fur come off with just a small amount of brushing. Using this brush, the dead undercoat fur basically pours off and leaves behind a smooth and soft coat. As a plus, it seems to be less irritating/stimulating because our one cat who normally doesn't tolerate brushing well is absolutely thrilled to be brushed with this one.The price initially gave me pause but I have never come across a pet brush that was so well worth it. You will be shocked at home much fur comes off using this with no signs of any damage to their coat.

Doesn’t brush well
I have a mini Doxie and it doesn’t grasp his hair. Just pushes it off the end of his back. Not a bad brush…. I guess just not to right one for him!

Works Great but Use With Caution
I bought this for an elderly turkish angora who is matted. This worked ok on the parts he'd let me do but he hated it, too rough for the old boy. He'll have to be sedated and use a real blade comb on, which I was trying to avoid. It is sharp, take care not to scrape the skin, it requires a slight angle. This brush works fantastic on my dog. She doesn't like it either but the amount of underfur that came out is amazing and she looks beautiful, so shiny and smooth. The fur does fall right out of the brush as you're brushing so you don't really have to stop to clean as you're working. So works great but be VERY gentle.

It’s mid…
Overall it’s decent and does comb through my cat’s top coat easily. However I thought the comb’s teeth would be metal but it’s plastic, causing the undercoat to become staticky when combed through. It doesn’t really catch the undercoat as much as I would have liked. And when it does, it just collects at the backend of my cat and I have to manually remove the fur myself. Slightly disappointed, but it’s mid.

Works very well for undercoat!!
I have 2 different brushes. I use my regular brush first and then this one and it is SO helpful for the pets who can mat up.

FurFetcher doesn’t fetch fur! Buy the slicker brush!!!
The mfg describes this tool as “Highly effective at removing undercoat”. “Removes 3 times as much fur as brushing alone”. Well, I and my cat beg to differ on both counts. As you can see in my photos, the Hartz slicker brush removed a ton of fur from Olive, our 9 yr old Siamese. Olive loves being brushed and was very patient while Daddy tested both brushes on her.He used the Hart’s de-shedding tool first and it removed almost nothing of her dense undercoat. Then he brushed her with the new Hartz slicker brush. Amazing the amount of fur that the de-shedder didn’t get. The slicker removed at least 10x the fur!I then tried it then on our old man cat Sam(17) and he absolutely hated it, growling and biting at me. Not a happy boy. They also state “Satisfaction guaranteed”..... well neither of these kitties nor their parents are satisfied with this purchase at all. And at $20, I felt compelled to review it and send it back. It’s on its way back and the kitties are greatly relieved. They said “good riddance to the Fur Fetcher” and are more than happy to keep the small slicker brush. Guess you win one & lose one. Hopefully they’ll forget this experience and forgive us.... and don’t tell Spencer (17)and Norma Jean(19) our other two kitties what we did to them. The small slicker brush is the way to go!
