Kristin Ess Hair Gloss - Brass Neutralizing | Shine Boosting | Deep Conditioning, Silicone-Free + Ammonia-Free, Smoky Topaz (Medium Neutral Bronde)

I don’t quite understand the negative reviews of this gloss, except to think that people don’t have the correct expectations. My natural hair color is a level 5 dark brown, which I recently got highlighted. As my brown hair girls know, it is easy to get an orange tint to your hair during the lightening process , and after the toner applied in the salon washes out. The Smokey topaz made a wonderful difference in my orange toned highlights and I immediately ordered another box to have on hand when it’s time to do it again. My biggest suggestion is not to apply this in the shower. I took a shower and shampooed, so that the toner could properly absorb in my hair. Then I towel dried and carefully brushed my hair and divided into 4 sections. I applied the toner to each section in front of a mirror and let it sit for 15 minutes, then showered again to rinse it out. I know it seems like an extra step but I believe you will get much better results this way than hap hazardly applying in the shower. Very pleased with the product and the literal hundreds of dollars it’s going to save me in salon appointments I’ll no longer need!

After I used a hair color remover my hair was obviously orange/copper so I decided to use this product instead of another dye because I’m trying to get back to my natural color. The product conditions and makes hair shiny and healthy looking and feeling and as you can see from my picture it definitely tones out the brassy color and cools it down into my more natural lighter browns and darker blondes. I do still see a tinge of reddish color coming through but no complaints here. Also I have really long hair and used 1 1/2 bottles to get even coverage.

My hair has a tendency to go brassy no matter which dye or which salon I go to. When the brown color starts to fade, it fades to a brassiness that I do not like. I discovered this product and gave it a try. The change in my hair was remarkable and noticeable, and although it can’t get rid of all of the brassiness it reduced it to an acceptable level. This way, I do not have to dye my hair as often.

I have now used this product twice and I have gotten a reaction each time, got very dizzy and light headed. Then sick to my stomach. Lov the color hate the feeling.

I didn't notice a huge difference to my hair, and it took an embarrassing amount of time to open the bottle. But was easy to mix and use and i was glad it came already measured

I am not a hair person, so I was feeling very hesitant to do something in between going to the salon. I normally get highlights with my darker brunette base. I was feeling that my highlights were already looking very different from my base color I needed to tone it. I bought smoky topaz and I applied it. It was very easy and took 20 minutes. I loved the way that my hair looks. I think it looks even healthier and shinier. It is bouncy and looks great with just a blow dry. Personally, I wish that I got the brighter shade but I’ve decided to go with this one because I was hesitant about the blonde but I definitely will try the blonder version next time. Thankfully, this lasts around 4 weeks so I don’t have to worry that it’s very permanent.Top picture is before and down is after

So maybe it’s just me, but this did not work at all in my hair to get any of the brassiness out. I have used this on two separate occasions and both times I did not see any results.

This hair gloss works so well. I have hair that tends to pull brassy and this helps to tone it down so much! I also have sensitive skin and have never had a reaction to this. For the price this is an amazing way to save money from going to the salon!
