I recommend putting the packs of dirt
I helped the kids (5 and 7) while they did it. I recommend putting the packs of dirt, sand and rocks in little cups or containers to make it easier for the kids to pour into to jar. The instructions were good though. The kids had a lot of fun. The seeds started germinating right away too! Just put them in a sunny window, didn't buy the solar light it recommends.

A gift for my granddaughter
She was very happy with her gift and kept her entertained for some time. She loves plants and butterflies so it was the perfect gift for a child that has no siblings and has it all.
