The Art of Embroidered Butterflies (paperback edition) Paperback – 8 April 2021

This is a lovely book, wonderful pictures and flowery writing. However this is not a how to book and I was a little disappointed with that. I should have checked the reviews before buying. A few butterfly outlines would have been nice. Having said that the photos are very close and detailed and it is possible to work it out but some basic shapes would have been useful.

So inspirational. Made me appreciate butterflies and want to spend days practicing embroidery.

Although this was a beautiful book it was not what I was expecting. I would have liked instructions as to how to make the butterflies but it showed how the author made them. It was very technical and complicated. The pictures were beautiful and it was an interesting read.

I like everything about this book. It has marvellous photos, clear instructions & I am delighted with the imagery of her words about nature & how these fantastic insects enchant her along with their environment.I would not hesitate in recommending this book, it is amazing, truly beautiful.

Expected projects to do - sadly no patterns or 'how to' details.Really just a record of what the author has produced.Should have read previous reviews before ordering. Now returning.

I saw it mentioned in a catalogue a friend brought to our stitching group. As I am working on my Altered book on Butterflies I order the book and it just blew my mind away. Jane Hall is a great artist, I could never reach her level especially as I don't have infinite patience nor skill. Her love for butterflies shines through on every page. This book will be looked at whenever I am low. It's like a ray of sunshine. Thank you Jane for sharing your art and thoughts with us.
