Not perfect, but good enough; and there are pitfalls
5 stars in spite of imperfections because (a) it could not be easier to set up, and (b), the entire concept is flawed, and I don't think anything could do better.Open the package. There's a loop with spray nozzles and a long hose which connects to a faucet. The only real trick is -- how to you hang it on the front of your fan? Once you have that figured out, it's a 30 second process. I used an S-hook, but you have to make sure it won't get in the way of the blades. You could use tie-wraps, but then have to cut them off. String would work. All sorts of things will work.As for defects: it does drip a bit where it connects to the hose bib. Almost made me wonder if it has non-standard threads, but it doesn't.But ... the whole concept is flawed, because .... wind. If you put the fan at a comfortable distance, the lightest breeze diverts the cooling spray. It is really hit and miss. And if the wind comes from behind, you get less mist and more spray, and you start to worry about the book or magazine you are reading, wondering if it will get water spots, or even have pages stick together. If you put the fan close enough to keep it on target, you get more spray than mist, and my fan at least doesn't have a low enough speed to keep it gentle. The nozzles have serrated sides as if to provide a good grip to adjust them, but I can't turn them by finger, don't want to take pliers to them, and I think the wind is still the biggest problem, and unfixable.I will keep using it. If the dog or squirrels chew it up, I will probably buy it again. But think about the wind and whether it will work for you.

Works Great – Just Secure the Hose!
This misting fan attachment is a great product and works really well. I wrapped it around my fan, and it was easy to install. The adjustable nozzle next to where it attaches to the fan is a nice touch because you can control the direction of the mist. One thing to note: make sure you tighten the connection at the hose nozzle. If you leave the water on without doing so, it can leak. Once it’s secured, though, everything works perfectly, and the mist keeps things nice and cool. A solid product overall!

Puts out a lot of mist
It works for the intended purpose, but be aware that it puts out quite a bit of mist so you can’t have the fan really close.

This misting kit for a fan is AMAZING
This works! I was skeptical! Yes, you may feel some of the mist and get slightly wet, but not "been in the pool" wet. It's a mister, after all! It was SUPER easy to place on the fan. It comes with the zip ties, which work very well! Note, you'll want to place this on a fan that you may not use inside. It can still be used without the mister, even though it's installed, if you are okay with it.

Not user friendly
These had to be mounted with zip ties which made the installation a little more difficult. When I want to remove the mister from the fan I have to cut the zip ties and then buy more zip ties to re-install. The fittings were leaking when I hooked it to water and turned the water on. All fitting were loose and had to be adjusted in order for it to fit properly. Someone without mechanical background would have just returned them thinking they were not working properly but luckily my step father fixed these. Since fixed they work great! I only wish they had some type of clip to hook them to the fan instead of using zip ties.

Leaky
Purchased and returned this because it leaked so much that I started seeing rust on my new fan. Very disappointed especially since half the country is scorching 😞.Plus side, if you don't mind getting wet than go for it. It pushes out alot of water, hence the rust on the fan.

Works perfectly as a chicken cooling station
We used this on a wind machine fan to create a cooling station for our chickens. It works perfectly and seems like it will hold up pretty well. It creates a very fine thick mist that helps drop the air temp coming from the fan considerably.
