It works so thankful as I was at my wits end
I have a 80l tank ish I think. It was like pea soup we have a lot of natural light and do t use the aquarium light to keep the algae down. I could not stop the green. Purine sachets, water changes. Took live plants out. Nothing. Tried this with a 3/4 soft water change. This is after 5 days. It’s clearer than a swimming pool. I did leave it on all night first night and killed 5 fish. My mistake. It’s in the filter housing space but it attracts fish at night like moths so just use it in daylight not dark or use a timer. I haven’t had it on today as the water is so clear but maybe I will use it 1-2 hrs per day but also need to make sure the prawns and snails have something left to eat. Yes it was cheap it may not last but it does work and I am happy. Very happy.

Amazing difference to water.
I have two of these in my sump. My tank is 6x2x2 foot and prone to algae build up. Without these UV lights the whole tank turns green. When they’re on the water is completely clear. I’ve had one of them running 16 hrs a day for 18 months and it’s still going strong. The other I added recently to give it an extra boost. One should be ample for most tanks. DO NOT put in your tank with fish as it will kill them, sump use only. If you have no sump use an enclosed UV steriliser in your tank so the light doesn’t reach the fish.

Dangerous.
Dangerous do not buy, Installed light in my jewel internal filter and switch on, five minutes later there was one massively loud explosion which blew apart the control box with on/off switch. I am just glad the box was in the aquarium cuboard and not beside the glass aquarium. (NO STARS).

UV steriliser
Even though it’s small it’s done a great job . After 4 days my water has gone from green to clear. I’ve done one water change 40% and it was still cloudy, but now it’s very clear. I’ve put it behind some plants I have in the tank (110ltr) as it says to hide the light in a cover - (it doesn’t come with one)

For those saying it breaks after couple months
Yes, I can understand why people get mad after it breaks. The UV light is not really suppose to stay on all day. You burn it out too quickly. You are only suppose to have it on for 2 hours or so to clear it. Usually pumps with a uv fitted have a timer to turn it on and off.I have a solution to this to make it last from 2 months to possibly a year or 2. Get a smart plug. Set it to turn on every week for 2 hours and then turn off and repeat the same process. This may help you.

Works well but broke after 3 months
The UV light steriliser worked very well and helped clear the water in my marine fish tank. Unfortunately after 3 months the light would not come on again and since there is no way to replace the UV bulb, I had to throw it away. I would expect this item to last longer as it is not the cheapest around.

Just have patience
After 18 months of no issues, my tank is suddenly full of what I believe to be algae bloom.Read that UV light is probably the best way to get rid of it so measured the height of the tank and bought the biggest size that would fit in upright. After around 4 days of this being on non stop, the cloud has lost the green colour and the water looked slightly better.Having read other reviews that people experienced crystal clear tanks after as many days I did start to become despondent that that was about as good as it was going to get as nothing else really seemed to happen for the next 7 days.I continued with my regular water change and tank clean and 2 weeks after installation I do now have crystal clear water and am very happy with the job it's done. I will leave it off now until I see any further deterioration but this has got me back to a nice clear tank where I can see my fish again.Did as it was supposed to, just have patience.
