This bread is my one and ONLY go to!
We all know it's hard to find a decent gluten free bread. We have been thru many tasteless breads. Well Little Northern Bakehouse is amazing and has perfected the GF bread. I have been eating gluten free since 2008 and I have had some good breads over the years but my life changed when I had LNB. This was before they had the "wide slice" and I always bought the "white" and the "cinnamon & raisin" varieties. Once in a while I would get the little buns they had and use those for sloppy joes. The wide slice truly is like a normal bread. It is the perfect slice. I eat at least 1-2 slices 2 times a day topped off with peanut butter. I have a strict eating habits due to medial conditions. So it's always my first thing to eat in the morning and the last thing I eat before bed. It taste so good and I have even given it to my non gf husband and he likes the taste as well.I am SO happy that I am finally able to get it online for a decent price. You will NOT beat this price. I live in the country and would go every 2 weeks into "town" to get this bread an this bread only. (I have made a friend at Sprouts for ordering this bread). So while I will miss our chats, I am SO HAPPY that LNB can now be delivered. The package was still cool but I freezed upon opening. You will be happy with this purchase! I am going to most likely put this on subscribe and save! Thanks LNB for an amazing line of breads!

Best gluten free bread out there!
I love that this us available now on Amazon! We have been buying this brand of bread for years. It's the only brand my son will eat! I've been making special trips to whole foods or the co-op to buy it. This is the only gluten free bread that is good without being toasted. It makes a great sandwich. Even my other kids, who don't need to eat gluten free, like this bread.

Great for toasting, terrible fresh.
There are pros and cons to this bread. I was really looking forward to receiving this bread initially. I've rated this as three stars because my overall opinion of this bread is fairly neutral. It has some really good points but it also has some major failures. All of the gluten free breads at my local store are these tiny little loaves that (while adorable) are too small to make a decent sandwich, the main reason why I bought this one is because the slices are full sized (first positive) plus they offer it in bulk (second positive). When I opened the package I was surprised to find that the bread felt rather dry. It felt similar to gluten free bread that had been sitting for a couple of weeks (first negative). I had hoped that I would receive bread that was fresher, but this bread felt like it had been sitting in the warehouse for a while. I also found that the bread, when uncooked, doesn't hold together very well. If I made a sandwich for work, the bread would be getting cracks in it by lunchtime and would leave lots of crumbs everywhere (second negative).BELOW ARE THE IMPORTANT POINTS:This bread eaten fresh (tried as a salmon fish sandwich):- Way too dry and cracks easily- Messy- Has little going as far as taste- Texture is strange, almost granularlyThis bread eaten toasted (tried as a grilled cheese sandwich):- Crip and toasted to perfection- Held together very well- The texture from toasting is almost better than gluten bread in my opinion- Cooking it seems to enhance the flavor, it pairs very well with butterOverall, I think this bread is great if you're using it for cooking/toasting. However, if you are looking for a bread to use fresh (for pb&j, ham sandwiches, etc), then I don't recommend this bread for you.

tastes and toasts
The bread was delivered quickly and fresh. It has a really nice flavor and toasts well. It does not contain egg, which is really good for the allergic people in this household. It does contain potato starch, for those that are sensitive to potato. However, having tried other products out there, this is the best vegan, gluten free bread that we have found. Thank you Little Northern Bakehouse for going vegan and gluten free!

No Air Pockets, Yay! - Updated 1/16/22
Amazon forces me to over-write a review of one product (white wide-slice) with that of another. Here goes. The whole grain wide-slice is the way to go for taste, but both benefit from lots of butter. In my experience with this bakery the worst you'll get in air-pockets is some separation of the top crust. While not negligible, it's of little consequence to toasting.Original Review - I finally quit the last GF bread after over two years because the air pockets were many and other issues having to do with packaging that squished the loaf and was hard to open. Issues with that and others I tried included odd-shaped slices. This bread solved all those problems for me. I've consumed over ten loaves and no air pockets, where more than one other brand I'd tried produced air pockets big enough for a mouse to build a nest.It toasts beautifully and slices are the full width of the toaster, which is another problem solved. Granted it's white bread, but I'd like to taste a bit more flavor. That's a small thing compared to the other considerations I've mentioned. Simple packaging is a also a big deal for me. I don't want a bullet-proof hermetically sealed inner container.

The best vegan, gluten-free bread.
We have tried many, many gluten-free, vegan breads over the last 10 years, and this is by far the best we've had. My kids love it, and we've already gone through 1.5 loaves in less than a day. It is soft and has a great texture if you want to eat it plain, and it toasts up great in the toaster or in a frying pan. It's nice to have gluten-free bread that doesn't taste gritty, doesn't fall apart, and is big enough for a regular-sized sandwich! It does appear to ship frozen but was thawed by the time we got the package. We just put the loaves back in the freezer. Much better pricing than some of the other brand names that are sold in the grocery store.
