Q: I have a 1980 f150 300 inline 6 4.9L. How well would this kit work with my truck?

This kit will work great on your truck. It worked very well on mine the only difference is you have a 6 cylinder and I have an 8. If your carburetors choke heat tube is missing or broken this will do the job. I highly suggest using the coil bending tubes that even Harbor frieght sells. They are just a few bucks and helps from kinking the tube. You slip them over the tubing while you are bending it. Just be patient bending the aluminum tubing because it will kink if you dont take your time in forming it to its shape.

Q: anyone know how long the tube unraveled is?

Actually my kit didn't come with the 1/4 brake line (which is what the tube is). So I went down to the local brake specialist and bought a metre for $10 (things are a bit more pricey in Australia). The parts in the kit fit the brake line perfectly. My only suggestion is that to get yourself a couple of small stainless steel cable ties. The silicon braid that you slide over the brake line frays and looks dodgy. So if you place the cable tie at the ends and trim it with a razor blade you would get a much neater finish than what I did.
